Cpl. RS. Davis said the Maxway Store, located at the Kings Mountain Plaza, was robbed of an undetermined amount of money Friday at 7:26 p.m. Employees told officers ~ that a white male approxi- mately 6-5 entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. Davis said threats were made but no weapon was shown. The clerk com- plied with the request and the suspect fled the area. The suspect was reported as being of slim build and was wearing a black and white shirt, black hat and blue jeans. Davis said anyone with information about the crime should call KMPD at 734- 0444. Margaret Dixon, Poriny Joe Morrow, and Peggy Dixon told police that two unknown Black males entered their residence at 717 Landing Street at approximately 1 a.m. April 15 and stole money. ~ One of the suspects reportedly had a shotgun and the other had a chrome pistol. Two of the victims told police they were ordered to lie down, and the third was reportedly taken into a back room to look for money. The three victims said they were all put in the bathroom until the suspects left. One of the suspects is described as approximately 25 years old and 5-5, 150 pounds with small black hair. The other was described as approximately 25 years old and 6-0, 180 pounds with short black hair. On April 17 police were dispatched to a residence to investigate a report of an armed robbery which occurred the night before. Ptl. L.D. Howell said a © teenager was on Landing St. around 9 p.m. and stopped at a stop sign when two unknown white males approached his vehicle. One of the men reportedly put a gun to the young man’s head and ordered him out of the vehicle. They reportedly went through the car and stole money, a camera, ten- nis shoes, video camera, cell phone, various CDs and a gold necklace. The suspects reportedly left on foot. The suspects were report- ed as being in their 20s. One was about 5-10, average build and the other was about 6-0 with dark hair, the report said. Marvin Ezzell of 803 Fourth St. was reportedly robbed at knifepoint of $50 on the porch of his home. A description of the sus- pect was given to police, who searched the area and arrested Robert Franklin Plemmones. Food Lion, 1320 Shelby Rd., reported an armed rob- bery in which the suspect stole $100 worth of pork chops and reportedly threat- ened an employee. Employees reported that a Black male approximately 6- 4, 200 pounds was at the meat counter and had con- cealed several packs of meat. An employee reportedly confronted the suspect, and the suspect pulled a knife. The suspect reportedly left the building and got into a blue Explorer with another man and headed west on US 74 Business. Counterfeit $20 bills passed in restaurants Three Kings Mountain restaurants have reported receiving $20 counterfeit bills. Taco Bell, 705 York Rd., reported receiving two bogus twenties Wednesday at approximately 4 p.m. An employee reported finding the bills while counting the money in one of the regis- ters.
