Morrow of Kings Mountain announce the engagement’ of their daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Morrow, to Jeffrey Dean Bailey of Hendersonville, son of Loyd and Mary Jane Bailey of Brevard. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is a 2001 cum laude graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in French Education. She teaches French at North Henderson High School. She is the grand- daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Morrow and Virginia Owens, and the late Charles E. Owens. The groom-to-be is a graduate of Brevard High School. He is a graduate of Mars Hill College with a degree in physical educa- tion. He teaches P.E. and is head football coach at North Henderson High School. He is the grandson of Mildred Nichols. A June 22 wedding is planned. Rev. John FE Bridges and Dr. Tony Fulbright officiated. Mrs. Sonda Anderson, pianist; Mrs. Judy White, organist; Mrs. Roxanne Bridges and Mrs. Lisa Walker, vocalists; and a brass quintet composed by friends of the bride Marshall Forrester, Lisa Forrester, James Turner, Richard Holmes, and Jordan Crisp, presented a program of wedding music. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Lee Rowland of Grover, and the late Jimmy Lee Fulton. She is the grand- daughter of Dean McCraw of Blacksburg, SC and the late Lucille N. McCraw, Mrs. Edith Fulton of Blacksburg, SC and the late G.D. Fulton, and Mr. and Mrs. Laylon Rowland of Gastonia. She is a 1989 graduate of Kings Mountain High School. She received a Bachelor of Music in 1993 from Appalachian State University, and a Masters of Music Education in 1995 from Winthrop University. She is employed by Wake County Public School System as a Middle School Band Director. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Ray Simmons of Laurinburg. He is a 1986 graduate of Scotland County High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 1990 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is a Mortgage Banker with Centex Home Equity, Cary. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Timothy Lee Rowland. She wore a white satin A-line gown featuring elaborate beaded trim and cut-out lace detailing. It had a scoop neckline and short cap lace sleeves. The veil was a beaded tiara with finger-tip illusion. MRS. DAVID RAY SIMMONS (Leigh Anne Fulton) She carried a European hand-tied bouquet of Virginia roses, Dendrobium orchids and fresia. Judith Fulton Tuthill, cousin of the bride, of Winston Salem, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Anne Campbell Bucci, friend of the bride, of Matthews; Katy Morrison, cousin of the bride, of Grover; and Shirley Simmons Tezzi, sister of the groom, of Charlotte. Junior bridesmaids were Brooke Olivia Sellers of Kings Mountain and Rachel McDaniel of Grover. Miniature bride was Mary Kaitlyn Sellers of Kings Mountain. She wore a white sleeveless dress of satin and overlayed Tulle skirt. The matron of honor and bridesmaids wore fitted sleeveless dresses of plum satin crepe with scooped, cowl-draped back. They carried European hand-tied bouquets of lavender, red and orange roses, yellow ale- stromeria lilies and blue depheninium. | Register attendants were Rebecca Fulton, aunt of the bride, of Lexington and Karen Currin, friend of the bride, of Oxford. Programs were distributed by Emerald and Lacey Tutthill of Winston Salem. Sammy Ray Simmons was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Frank Dominic Tezzi, brother-in-law of the groom, of Charlotte; Kevin Wells Holton, friend of the groom, of Raleigh; Kevin Paul Perrault, friend of the groom, of Clayton; and Alex Steven McDaniel, friend of the bride, of Grover. Beth McDaniel directed the wedding. The bride’s parents hosted the reception at the H. Lawrence Patrick Senior Life and Conference Center, Kings Mountain. Greeting the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Grady T. Childers, William J. Herndon and Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Wright. j Music was providéd in the foyer by harpist Fereby Grace Bryant of Shelby, and during the reception by the Brook Mayes Combo of Raleigh. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Deer Brook Country Club, Shelby. A bridesmaids luncheon was held May 18 at 11 a.m. at the Cup and Saucer Tearoom in Kings Mountain. Hostesses were Dorothy C. Childers, Julie McDaniel and Shannon Sellers. Following a cruise to the Southern Carribean, the couple will reside in Cary. Deadline for social news is 12 noon Monday.
