Finishing third were Ronnie Wilson, Toney Wells, Bryant Wells and Brad Wilson with a 59. William Lindsay, Donald Upton, Jerry Beaver and Leonard Hawkins shot a 17-under-par 55 Friday to win the annual Kings Mountain Rotary Club Golf Tournament at Kings Mountain Country Club. Gordon. Huitt Reep, Mike Reep, Yates Reep and Andrew Reep won the first flight in a playoff over Brian Butler, Mark Hodges, Butch Kerns and Rusty Carriger. Both teams shot 65. Seventy-two golfers competed in the Captain’s Choice event to raise money for scholarships for Kings Mountain High School students. Every team in the tournament finished below par. #11. Third place went to Steve Padgett, Darrell Keller, Chip Sloan and Davis Brown, who shot a 66 and finished in a tie with the teams of Bill Sherwood, Todd Sherwood and Rick Stroupe; Jake Second place in the first flight went to Rich Sari, Ron Davidson, William Mabry and Steve Edsall. PIGSKIN PICKERS Williams Memorial tourney Dub Blalock, Todd Blalock, Bill Sellers and Rodney Sellers finished with a 17-under-par 55 to win the sixth annual Blair Williams Memorial Golf Tournament . Saturday at Kings Mountain Country Club. Nineteen four-person teams entered the annual event, which raises money for missions programs at First Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, where Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Williams, was an active member prior to his tragic death in 1996. Second place with a score of 56 were Scott Foy, Mark Foy, Barney Cannon and y Scott Spears. Tom Smith, Travis Johnson, Rodney McGinnis and Roland Rohr took third place in a playoff over Jeff Johnson, Mike Suess, Dan Smith and Richard Pro. Both teams shot 59. Closest to the pin winners on the par three holes were Andy Majors, John Goforth, Tyler Warren a nd Tim Henson. Longest drive winner was Charles Bullock. Closest to the creek on hole number 15 ‘was Chris Miller.
