He ran seventh with a time of 20:54. Flynn sets record at St. Stephens Kings Mountain High cross country runner Hayley Flynn won her third straight meet in record time Tuesday at St. Stephens. . Flynn set a new course record with a time of 21:39 as the Lady Mountaineers finished third behind R-S Central and St. Stephens. R- S scored 38 points, St. Stephens 40 and KM 49. Flynn broke the old record held by St. Stephens’ current top runner, Alys Cheatie, by almost two minutes. In boys action, R-S Central won with 21 points, fol- lowed by St. Stephens 56 and KM 70. Top finisher for the Mountaineers was Thomas Reid, who ran fifth with a time of 20:38. Baseball tourney in Bessemer City An ASSA baseball tourna- ment will be held October 12-13 at the Gaston County Fields in Bessemer City. There will be competition in three different age groups including 13-under, 12- under and 11-under. Entry fee is $250 plus a $25 sanction fee if a team did not participate in an ASSA event this year.
