Charity Goins Moss and Kenneth Ray
Bridges II, both of Kings Mountain, have
announced ‘their plans to be married on
April 12, 2003.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Ms.
Karen Moss and Quay Moss, both of Kings
Mountain. She is a 1995 graduate of Kings
Mountain High School and a 1999 graduate
of Gaston College in the Medical Assisting
Program. She is employed by Gaston Eye
Associates, Dallas.
The groom-to-be is the son of Ken and
Cathy Bridges of Kings Mountain. He is a
1995 graduate of Kings Mountain High
School and a 2000 graduate of Appalachian
State University. He is employed as a PE.
teacher at Kings Mountain Intermediate
School.

Mr. and Mrs. Jones
celebrate anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Hicks Jones of Forest City
were honored with a reception Saturday,
November 23, 2002 at Glenwood Baptist
Church fellowship hall in Bostic in celebra-
tion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The observance was hosted by the cou-
ple’s daughters, Donna McGinnis and hus-
band David of Ellenboro and Trena Roper
and husband Donald of Boiling Springs, SC.-
Their grandchildren, Kyle Radford and
Adam and Kristin Roper, also assisted.
Johnny and Jenny Marlowe greeted
guests.
The serving table was covered with a gold
cloth and caught at the corners with ivory
bows. It held a crystal centerpiece with
floating candles and greenery. The other
tables were covered with ivory cloths and
ivory lace and centered with hurricane
globes with candles and greenery.
The three-tiered anniversary cake frosted
cream and decorated with cream and white
flowers and gold leaves, and topped with a
50th anniversary insignia.
Pat Gorden cut and served the cake, and
Pat Millwood served punch. A variety of
refreshmenis were served.
Patricia McDaris, Lois Eplee, Janet Ivey
and Kay Vess assisted with the refresh-
ments.
A memorabilia table held pictures of the
couple and their families throughout the
years.
Hicks and Sue were married November
23, 1952 in Kings Mountain at the home of
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Putnam.

Jeffrey Odom exchanged marriage vows
December 22, 2002 at 7 p.m. at Lutz-Austell
Chapel in Shelby.
The Rev. Kenneth Gillikin, pastor of
Resurrection Lutheran Church in Kings
Mountain, officiated. Kristina Moore,
pianist, Ingrid Chenoweth, flutist, and
Charity Richey, vocalist, presented the wed-
ding music.
The bride is the daughter of Barbara and
Clenon Tackett of Kings Mountain. She is
the granddaughter of Betty Lou Kluber and
the late Earle Kluber of Black Mountain, and
Elizabeth and Mack Tackett of Ivel, KY. She
is a graduate of Kings Mountain High
School and is attending Cleveland
Community College.
The groom is the son of Marilyn Odom of
Rock Hill, SC and Willmer Leon Odom of
Richmond, Va. He is the grandson of Doris
Tate and the late Fred Tate of Shelby and
Cebia and John Citorelli of Albany, GA. He
works at Fireco in Charlotte.
The bride’s father gave her in marriage.
Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Donna
Tackett. Benesh Tackett, the bride’s daugh-
ter, was flower girl. Brandi Green, friend of
the bride, was personal attendance and the
wedding director was Anna Owens. i J op
“David Anderson of Boone, friend. of the
groom, was best man. Ushers were John
Tackett of Ashland, KY and Craig Tackett of
Blacksburg, SC, brothers of the bride.
Anna Owens and Linda Appling hosted a
reception following the ceremony.
The couple resides in Shelby.

December 27, 2002 at Mountain Valley
Chapel in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Rev. Gearld Lucas officiated the private
ceremony attended by immediate family
and friends.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry Jenkins
of Bessemer City and Brenda Jenkins of
Kings Mountain. She is a graduate of Kings
Mountain High School and attended Gaston
College. She is the granddaughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs Roy Jenkins of Kings Mountain
and Nora Hutchins of Grover and the late
Converse Hutchins.. She is employed by Sti
of Kings Mountain.
The groom is the son of Vicki King of
Gastonia and the late Paul Gaffney Spencer.
He is a graduate of North Gaston High
School and served as a Specialist in the U.S.
Army. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs.
Joe Dellinger of Bessemer City. He is
