A native of Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Wesley and Pearl Smith Carroll. He was a retired truck driver from Burlington Industries after 37 years of service. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his wife, Joan Barrett Carroll of Kings Mountain; son, Keith Carroll and wife Roxanne of Chicago, IL; daughters, Cynthia Carroll and hus- band Gary Tiddy of New Bern and Diane Carroll Randall and husband David of Kings Mountain; sister, Martha Smith of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Shelley Rohm, Courtney Boyd, Wade Randall and Pamela Randall; and great- grandchildren, Kaili and Katelyn Boyd. She was a retired railroad employee. Carolina Street, died March 7, 2003 at Kings Mountain Hospital. A native of Gambirills, MD, he was the son of the late ; William and Elva Irene Moreland Lewis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Breakfield Lewis, and sister Bernice Hedrick. He was a former employee of Owen Steele in Gastonia and was a member of Family Worship Center Church of God in Kings Mountain. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his brother, Dale Lewis and wife Joan of Baltimore, MD; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral was conduct- ed by the Rev. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Dr. C.E. and Margaret Johnston Glenn. She was married to the Rev. James B. McLarty, who died in 1984, and was also pre- ceded in death by her broth- er, Fulton Glenn of Asheville. She was a graduate of Asheville High School and Greensboro College. She taught English at area high schools and junior high schools. She was a member of Black Mountain United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter Eileen Fulton of New York, NY; sons, James Fulton McLarty of Camden, Maine, and Charles Furman McLarty of Fort Mill, SC; and one granddaughter, Kate McLarty of Fort Mill, SC. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and was a Sunday School Director for 56 years. He was a member of the choir and taught training union for many years.
