Excellent and caring teachers, eager and curious stu- dents, con- cerned and supportive = | parents, and pulls togeth- er for the school. That describes West School. However, few people real- ize how West School faculty, parents and community pull together in times of need. For the students, much time and effort go into planning educational activities such as special daily lessons requiring manipulative and community. Field trips lend understanding as some stu- dents visit our state capitol to see how the government works, or the Lake Norman Museum of Science to explore. Then there is a trip of a lifetime for a kinder- gartner - to the circus! Community members often support a child so they may go on trips with their class- mates. There are the tireless mentors who come to read or visit with a child. Without our school’s sup- port group, it would be impossible to reinforce classroom teachings with memorable “out of book” experiences. If I have described your school, too, please thank those individuals who are responsible. Without them, we would not have schools of excellence.
