The bride-elect is a graduate of the
University of North Carolina at Charlotte
and is employed as a nurse at The Center for
Fertility and Endocrinology in Columbia, SC.
The groom-elect is a graduate of Western -
Carolina University in Cullowhee, and is
employed as Branch Manager of South
Central Pool Supply in Columbia, SC.
The wedding is planned for November 8,
2003 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kings
Mountain.

social events will not be published if they are
over two months old.
When holidays or other reasons make it
necessary for the paper to publish a day
early the deadline is Friday at 12 noon.
There is no charge for articles. However,
there is a $5 preparation fee for birthday pic-
_ tures for ages 0-5, and a $10 preparation fee
for engagement and wedding pictures.
Junior Woman’s Club
sets consignment sale
The Kings Mountain Junior Woman's
Club will hold its fall consignment sale
Saturday, Sept. 20 from 7:30-12 noon at the
Woman's Club at 108 e. Mountain Street.
The sale will feature fall and winter cloth-
ing, baby items and toys.
The newly-chartered club focuses its work
around children’s issues. Proceeds from this
sale will support the club’s Clothes Chests
for Kids project, which provides basic cloth-
ing items such as socks, underwear and t-
shirts for needy students in local elementary
schools.
“The sale is a great way for us to help the
- less fortunate children in our community,”
said Dana Blanton, club secretary. “We need
both consignors-and shoppers to make our
fall sale a big success.”

Free flicks set
at Joy Theater
Kings Mountain Little Theatre will host its
lobby coffee house Friday, Sept. 12 from 6-
10 p.m. and free flicks on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The coffee house features specialty coffee,
hot and cold beverages and home-made
desserts at reasonable prices.
Saturday's free flicks begin at 10 a.m. with
the kid's flick showing of “Piglet’s Big
Movie.” The 2 p.m. movie is “Lord of the
Rings - The Two Towers,” and “Chicago”
will play at 7:30.

The 11th annual Grooming for Life Cut-A-
