Senior Prom
Summit Place residents dance night away at Assisted Living Week event

For some senior citizens,
the prom is a distant memo-
ry. For others, economic
hard times meant there was
no prom. All that changed
Tuesday night when new
memories were made at the
Summit Place “Senior
Prom.”
The prom is part of a
week of activities celebrating
Estrella Dillafranda enjoys the evening
with her grandmother Ellen Goforth.
National Assisted Living
Week. Seniors from the com-
munity were invited to
attend as well as residents.
“It’s absolutely wonder-
ful. It brings back youth and
vitality,” said June Phifer.
“They feel young and beau-
tiful. It’s a joy to make them
feel this way.”
Phifer, a cosmetologist
and image consultant, visit-
ed earlier in the afternoon to
style hair and apply make-
