A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Coleman Wright Goforth. He was also pre- ceded in death by his mater- nal grandparents, Elzie L. and Della Borders Beam; paternal grandparents, George E. and Lizzie Pannell Goforth; and aunt Caroline Beam Martin. He was a graduate of Burns High School and Carolina Truck Driving School at Concord. He was owner and long distance truck driver, driving for Land Star Trucking Co., Jacksonville, FL. A native of Vigo Co., Terre Haute, IN., he te was the ES son of the late Ira and Mary Rogers Anderson. He retired from IBM as a service tech. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a member of Otis D. Green Post 155, American Legion Post, Kings Mountain, and was formerly a member of Stanley American Legion. She was a graduate of Shelby Hospital School of nursing and worked at vari- ous facilities in Shelby and the surrounding area. She retired from Eaton Corp. as the company nurse. She taught CNA classes at Cleveland Community College for several years. She was active in her Sunday School Class and in the Ladies Circle Bible study group.
