LIFESTYLES SOCIAL BRIEFS King celebration slated in Gastonia The Gaston County Organization for Community Concerns, Inc. will hold its 17th annual cel- ebration commemorating the birthday of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Saturday, January 17 at 6 p.m. at St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church at Unity Place, 201 West Franklin Ave., Gastonia. Rev. John McCullough, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Gastonia, will be the speaker. GPS program set at Crowders Mtn. A GPS units /high tech compass class will be held Saturclay, January 24 at 10 a.m. at Crowders Mountain State Park. Participants will learn some tricks that will make it easier to use. The class will be outdoors. Participants should take their GPS and owner’s manual.
