Bunch than 200 | other high school jun- iors and seniors from 35 states, the District of Colombia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Hong Kong, South Korea and Kazakhstan BUNCH explored the federal govern- ment at work. They spent a week discussing key politi- cal issues and observing the American political process. The week also featured seminars, visits with gov- ernment representatives, small discussion sessions, touring historic sites, and a performance by the political satire group, The Capitol Steps. Bethware to hold Jump Rope event Bethware Elementary School will hold a Jump Rope for Heart February) 23- 27 during regularly sched- uled classes in the school gymnasium. The event will raise funds The Cherryville Little Theater presents c to help fight heart disease and stroke. Students jump rope and collect donations from fami- ly and friends. Jumpers who raise a certain amount of money receive thank-you gifts. Jump Rope for Heart is a school fitness and education program. It teaches the value of cardiovascular fit- ness while raising money for research into heart disease and stroke. The diseases are the nation’s number 1 and 3 killers. Jump Rope for Heart is co- sponsored by the Annerican Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
