Page 2A MIDWEEK MEDITATION Hive faith that God can work through you BY REV. BOBBY QUINN “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.” 2 Corinthian 4:13 We have the same faith. Someone once said, “It’s not what you can do for God; it’s what God can do in and through you.” That is true, but for God to do those things you must have faith that He can do in you and through you what He says He can do. The problem of the Church, many believe, is unbelief, or not having faith in what God has already said in His Word concerning you. In Matthew 17:18 the disciples asked Jesus, “Why could not we cast out the spirit” and Jesus said, “because of your unbelief, and that this kind (unbelief) comes out only by prayer and fasting.” The problem is never God, it’s us. Look at Jesus’ answer to the disciples question on how to increase their faith in Luke 17:5-6 “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith, ye might say unto this sycamore tree, be though plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” Matthew 21:21 says “Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, be though removed and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.” If our faith isn’t working we then need to check our love walk and what we are saying. Does it (what we are saying) line up to the Word. Mark 11:22-23 says “Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be though removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” If faith comes by hearing, and it does, then unbelief comes the same way. John 15:7 says, “If you abide in me (love) and my words (faith) abide (make their home in you) you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” Keep speaking God's promises, walk in His love and you will overcome. BRYMER Staff Writer Kings Mountain Hospital will have to wait several months at least before find- ing out if it can install a per- manent MRI The hospital got word in late February that its appli- cation had received condi- tional approval by the state Division of Facility Services though Gaston County's CaroMont Hospital is lodg- ing an appeal. “We're disappointed but the process is there to pro- tect all participants,” said Mark Hudson, executive vice-president at KMH. In addition to KMH and CaroMont, Rutherford Hospital had applied for permission to install the machine. Regulations require hospitals to get state approval before adding major equipment or making big renovations to prevent unnecessary and costly duplication of services. Hudson said all three applicants were very serious about the project. “Everybody put their best foot forward,” he said. The appeal process could take several months to over a year. “It just depends on how they proceed,” Hudson said. “We'll just have to see what comes through the process.” CaroMont wants to build a freestanding building in Kings Mountain for the ‘MRI. Kings Mountain would install the machine at its hospital. Currently, a mobile MRI visits the hospi- tal once a week. Hudson argued during a November public hearing that having the MRI on site is safer for critically ill patients, Because regulations require expensive shielding around MRI machines in * hospitals, the expense incurred there would increase the price of the pro- cedure approximately $100 over what CaroMont would charge. Rutherford told state reg- ulators that it should be considered apart from the other two hospitals, saying it is too far away to be com- . petitive. Rabies case reported A raccoon found dead on Wright Road, Kings Mountain, on March 4 has tested positive for rabies. This makes the county’s 85th case since June 1998 and fifth case in 2004.
