The decision to reimburse Goforth for the cash came under fire from City Councilman Jerry Mullinax who said the State Bureau of Investigation should investi- gate. Goforth called the situa- tion “ a political game.” “If people of power of this city would spend more time looking after the well being of the city instead of indi- vidual department heads and department personnel. Some folks can’t leave well enough alone. They've got to keep messing with us,” Goforth said. Mullinax denies his ques- tions are politically motivat- ed.
