He was prededed in death by his parents, Johnny Collins and Eva Fields Collins of Whitesburg, KY, his brothers, and his beloved wife of 44 years, Oma Lou Hunsuker Collins. While serving in World War Il, he spent 16 months in a German prison at Stolope. A lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Shelby ‘worked for GMAC for 32 years in Lerian, Ohio. . He is a 1994 graduate of Kings Mountain High School and a 1999 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a B.S. in Earth Science. He is employed as a superintendent with Hills Communities of Charlotte. The couple plans a garden wedding on June 26, 2004 at Firethorne Country Club in Waxhaw. Kaitlyn Rumney born April 21, 2004 Kaitlyn Nicole Rumney was born April 21, 2004 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. She weighed seven pounds and was 19.25” in length. Parents are Misty and Chad Rumney of Albany, Ga. Maternal grandparents are Randy and Renae Knight of Gastonia and Jimmy and SueAnne Colvin of Bessemer City. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ida Neill : Absher. She was wife of the late WG. “Bill” Hartsoe and the late Robert Spencer. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Nadine Carson, brother Roach Absher, and sisters Essie Eaker and Margaret Short. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church, where she served as a Children’s Sunday School teacher and was a member of the choir. She was retired from Craftspun Yarns and she was a seamstress and worked part-time at Bolin Day Care, Kings Mountain. She was loved by many and loved many. She is survived by her sons, Bill Spencer and wife Patty of Cocoa Beach, FL, Ken Spencer and wife Doris of Fair Play, SC, Ed Spencer and wife Joye of Durham, and Terry, Spencer and wife Linda of Lincolnton; daugh- ters Bobbie S. Page of Kings Mountain and Elizabeth S. Ford, 87, 602 Ford Street, died May 19, 2004 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late John Wesley and Nona Bennett Ford and hus- band of the late Jewell Adkins Ford. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Otto, Marvin and Doris Ford, and his sister, Eunice Stewart. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II in North Africa and in Europe. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he taught the Senior Men's Sunday School class for over 30 years. He was retired from Margrace Mill, Kings Mountain. He is survived by his son, Kevin Ford and wife Kim of Shelby; grandchildren Haley and Joshua Ford of Shelby; and sisters Mozell Fowler of Kings Mountain and Gertrude Hamrick and Margrace Cicerano, both of Anderson, SC. She was also pre- ceded in death by her broth- er, James Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church, Kings Mountain.
