Representing the sec- ond place Mountaineers on the first team were C.J. Austin, Matt Echols, Tyler Leach, Weston Taylor and Ronnie Wilson. Making the sec- ond team were Trey Glass and Beau Bridges. First place Crest placed nine players on the team. Making the first team were Luke Dobbins, Daniel Folk, Matt Gold, Matt Haynes, Cory Lynn, Adam Hamrick and O.]. McFarland. Making the second team were Dusty Quattlebaum and Matt Hendrick. ! Hickory was represent ed by Wilson Boyd, Isaac Harrow, Clay Smith and Connor Hilton. Burns players selected were Jamie Ray, Josh Drewery and Chris Cook on the first team, and Josh Izokovic on the sec- ond team. Foard placed Ben Lilly on the first team and Brian Dice on the second team, and R-S Central placed Blake Cheeseman on the first team. Co-Players of the Year were pitchers Daniel Folk of Crest and Jon-Michael Cadle of St. Stephens. BM Junior pitcher-first baseman Tyler TAYLOR ECHOLS GLASS BRIDGES Leach received the most valuable player award at last week’s KMHS sports banquet. Leach led the Mountaineers in hitting with a .457 average, home runs with eight and RBI with 24. He was also the ace of the mound staff, pitching 65.1 innings and compiling a 6-3 record with a team-high 103 strikeouts. He had a .203 earned run average. Senior outfielder Weston Taylor won the best offensive player award. He was second to Leach in hitting with a .397 average. He had one home run and 14 RBL Senior catcher Matt Echols won the best defensive player award. He was one of the top catchers in the Southwestern Foothills Conference the past two seasons and this spring hit .287. All-Conference awards went to Echols, Leach, Taylor, C.J. Austin, Ronnie Wilson, Bo Bridges and Trey Glass. Team Player awards went to Brad Moffitt, Phillip Bunch, Chris Clearman, Chris Patrick and Josh Hendricks.
