Elizabeth Watson George of Greensboro
and Thomas Keith Morrow II of
Jacksonville, FL exchanged marriage vows
May 22, 2004 at The Penn House in
Reidsville.
The bride is the daughter of Don and
Beverly George of Reidsville. She is the
granddaughter of Buck and Gladys George,
and Cliften and Margeret Watson of
Durham. She is a 1996 graduate of
Rockingham County High School and a
1999-2000 graduate of Appalachian State
University. She has a Master of Science in
Accounting and is a Certified Public
Accountant.
The groom is the son of Keith and Avis
Morrow of Kings Mountain and the grand-
son of T.F. and Marcella Morrow, Virginia
Owens, the late Charles Owens and the late
Goldie Owens. He is a 1996 graduate of
Kings Mountain High School and a 2000
graduate of the US Military Academy at
West Point. He holds a BS in Mechanical
Aerospace Engineering. He is a helicopter
pilot in the US Navy, stationed at Mayport
NAS, Jacksonville, FL. He holds the rank of
Lieutenant, junior grade.
Rev. Michael Tillman, pastor of Ruffin
Stacey Baptist Church, Ruffin, NC, the
bride’s home church, officiated. The string
quartet Corda Entertainment of Colfax, NC
presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was given in marriage by her
father. She wore a strapless white gown
with A-line skirt and embroidered tulle
with sparkling beaded daisy accents on the
bodice and skirt. She carried a bouquet of
white hydrangeas, white roses, and blue
delphinium tied with white ribbon.
She chose her roommate, Susan Bradley
of Greensboro, as Maid of Honor. Kathryn
Morrow Bailey of Hendersonville, sister of
the groom, was bridesmaid. They wore
two-piece strapless periwinkle gowns with
silver and periwinkle lace on top and car-
ried blue and purple hydrangeas tied with
ribbon.
Keith Morrow was his son’s best man.
Groomsman was Allen Ware of Bluften, SC.
Ushers were Brad George, brother of the
bride, of Raleigh, and Jeff Bailey, brother-in-
law of the groom, of Hendersonville.
Serving as ushers and officers of the arch
of sabers were Captain Jose Valera, room-
mate of the groom at the US Military
Academy, of Austin, TX; Captain Josh
Taylor, friend of the groom from the US
Military Academy, of Clarksville, TN;
Lieutenant, junior grade Brandon Griffiths,
friend of the groom, of Jacksonville, FL;
Lieutenant, junior grade Andy Crish, friend
of the groom, of Virginia Beach, VA;
Lieutenant, junior grade Mike Menke,
friend of the groom, of Jacksonville, FL; and -
Lieutenant, junior grade Kyle Peitmeier,
friend of the groom, of Jacksonville, FL.
The bride's parents hosted the wedding
reception at The Penn House. It was catered
by Wanda Overman and Ann Swayze of
Cakes and Catering of Stoneville, NC.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal
dinner at The Penn House.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the
couple is at home in Jacksonville, FL.

Bethany Ann Jimison of Kings Mountain
and Roy Keith Gunter of Gastonia were
married June 5, 2004 at Oak Grove Baptist
Church in Kings Mountain.
Rev. Ron Caulder and Rev. Jim Brackett
officiated. Violinist Mrs. Christine
Robinson, pianist Mrs. Debbie Currie, and
soloist Bethany Leimer and Greg Burnette
presented a program of wedding music.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas
Michael and Darlene Champion Jimison of
Kings Mountain. She is the granddaughter
of the late Lyman and Gertrude Champion
of Kings Mountain, and Tom Jimison and
the late Frances Jimison of Canton. She is a
1997 graduate of Kings Mountain High
School and a 2001 graduate of Appalachian
State University with a Degree in
Accounting. She is employed by DMS
Management as a Pension and Wealth
Adviser.
The groom is the son of Dr. Jerry Marshall
Sr. and Roberta Kent Gunter of Gastonia.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs.
D.C. Gunter and Mr. and Mrs. John Kent of
Gastonia. He is a 1994 graduate of
Ashbrook High School and a 1998 graduate
of UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in
Accounting. He earned his Master's degree
in Accounting in 2000 at UNC Chapel Hill.
He is employed by KPMG as CPA tax
accountant in Cayman Islands.
Mike Jimison gave his daughter in mar-
riage. She wore a strapless A line white
gown with pleated satin bodice scattered
with crystals. The skirt has a Japanese
organza overlay with a satin ribbon hem.
She carried a hand-tied bouquet of roses,
orchids, lizianthus, freesia and dendcobuim
in cream and white.
Matron of Honor was Dr. Jill Jimison
Lambert of Durham. Bridesmaids were
Mrs. Kathryn Bailey of Hendersonville,
Rachel Shertzer of Pfafftown, Mrs. Telitha.
Hight of Charlotte, Laura Reedy of
Knoxville, TN and Mrs. Courtney Latta of
Charlotte.
Flower girl was Emily Bell and ring bear-
er was Alec Bell.
Register attendants were Katie Bell and
Brittany Thornburg. Program attendant was
Madison Gunter.
Dr. Jerry Marshall Gunter was his son’s
best man. Groomsmen were Marshall
Gunter of Gastonia, Eric Gunter of
Gastonia, Jackson Howard of Hilliard, OH,
Brian Kiger of Winston Salem, and Chad
Lambert of Durham.
Bell ringer was Kyle Bell of Kings
Mountain.
The bride’s parents hosted the wedding
reception at the H. Lawrence Patrick
Conference Center. The groom's parents
hosted the rehearsal dinner at Cleveland
County Club in Shelby.
Following a wedding trip to Grove Park
Inn in Asheville, the couple will reside in
Cayman Islands, British West Indies.

The bride is the daughter of Davy and
Paulette Towery of Grover. She is the grand-
daughter of James and ‘Sara Hall and Mrs.
Ralph Towery, all of King$ Mountain.
The groom is the son of Curt and Scottie
Ruppe of Kings Mountain.
The bride was given in marriage by her
father. She wore a white satin strapless
gown covered in beads and pearls. She car-
ried a bouquet of pink roses and cascading
spring flowers.i
Matron of Honor was Mrs. Judy Bowen of
Kings Mountain. Bridesmaids were Erica
Strickland, Tabitha Goode and Lisa Black,
all of Kings Mountain.
Child attendants were Brittany Nicole
Towery and Dylan Childers.
Curt Ruppe was best man. Groomsmen
were Chris Foster and Ricky Hildreth of
Kings Mountain, and Jeremy Towery of
Grover. Honorary best man was Terry
Bowen of Kings Mountain.

Girl Scouts of the Pioneer
Council recently held their
annual Adult Awards pro-
gram that honor volunteers
and leaders at Boyce
Memorial ARP Church in
Kings Mountain. In honor
of Girl Scout Leader's Day,
this ceremony recognizes
the countless hours of serv-
ice and the dedication of
volunteers in the Pioneer
Council. Adult recognition
in Girl Scouting is designed
to honor such individuals,
organizations and business-
es for promoting Girl
Scouting through their
excellent commitment and
support. Honors are award-
ed to volunteers and organ-
izations that have been
nominated for going above
and beyond for Girl Scouts.
“The awards program
was very successful, it was
wonderful to see so many
volunteers and their fami-
lies there,” said Karen
Rippy, Adult Development
Specialist. Volunteers were
nominated and selected by
committees who reviewed
and carefully selected each
nominee. “It is because of
adult volunteers and com-
munity support that girls
thrive in the Girl Scouts
program, this night was to
thank them for their coms
mitment and highlight thelr
special accomplishments.”
