Grover High Class of ‘54 holds SOth year reunion The Grover High School Class of 1954 held its 50th year reunion May 22 at 7 p.m. at Grover town Hall. John Harriswas appoint- ed to the board. He is presi- dent of both Harris Funeral Home and John O. Harris Interest, a Houston land development firm. A Houston native, Harris - attended Texas State University. He moved to Kings Mountain in 1996 but continues to remain actively involved with business interest in Houston. The Harris Professional Pavilion, developed by John O. Harris Interest, received the 2001 Building of the Year award by the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. Harris currently chairs the Cleveland County Economic Development Council and is treasurer of both Cleveland County Chamber and Kings Mountain Education Foundation. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Kings Mountain Rotary Club. Harris serves on the boards of directors for Hospice of Cleveland County and the Cleveland Community College Foundation. Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) has introduced legislation that would allow North Carolina veterans to receive free driv- ers licenses.
