Kings Mountain High School placed eight play- : ers on the All- : Southwestern Foothills 3A Conference softball team for 2004. The Lady Mountaineers | won the conference cham- i pionship with an 11-1 A record. They finished 25-3 | { | overall, going four rounds in the State 3A playoffs. Freshman pitcher Morgan Childers was named Conference Player of the Year and Coach Suzanne Grayson was named Conference Coach of the Year. KM’s Chad Pearson makes All-American in 10,000 Kings Mountain's Chad Pearson earned All-ameri- can honors in the 10,000 meters in last weekend's 2004 Outdoor NCAA Championships in Austin, TX. Pearson finished fifth in the 10,000 meters with a meters time of 29:58.13. This is the first time Pearson has won All-American honors for track in his NC State career, and he becomes the first Wolfpack runner since 1998, and only the third all-time, to earn such accolades in the 10,000 meters.
