YMCA, 211 Cleveland Ave., reported theft of a cellular phone, two walkie talkies, one charger and $25 in cur- rency and damage to win- dows during a break-in on June 20. Patrick cited Richard Goudern, of Cleveland, Tn., with driving while license revoked and careless and reckless driving after his vehcle, towing a trailer, struck a median barrier on I- 85 north, jumped a shoulder barrier causing the trailer to come loose and struck by a 1979 International which scatterd its contents on I-85. The vehicle operated by Jeffery Wane Wilkie of Gaffney was damaged $1500. Gaudern’s vehicle was damaged $20,000. June 15, 2004 - Vehicles operated by Alice Ellen Adkins, Shelby, and Don 1 Edward Brown, Dallas, were involved in a wreck on US 74.Business doing $1,000 damage to each vehicle. Ptl. W. P. Fredell said Brown was traeling east on US 74 Business in Kings Mountain and Adkins was making a right turn from Spring Streett onto US 74 Business. Brown began changing lanes into the right turn lane and Adkins failed to see Brown and stuck his vehicle in the right rear quarter. June 15, 2004 - Cpl. J. C. Shull cited Patricia Blanton, 2015 Barker Blvd., Shelby, with defective equipment after her 1989 Honda struck a 1997 Dodge operated by Sandi Hood, of Fort Mill, SC, on the exit ramp of US 74 Business. Blanton said her brakes failed as she attempt- { J 1 J - " i ' ed to stop behind the Honda at the stop sign. The Blanton car veered to the left to avoid impact and side- swiped the door of the Dodge doing $800 to Hood's vehicle and $500 to the Blanton vehile. June 16, 2004 - Ptl. M. D. Butler said vehicles operated by Brittany Ann Hemphill, 200 Spruce St., Apt. 2F and Umphavanh Xaylitdet, 504 S. Cansler St., hit on US 74 Business doing $2500 dam- age. Hemphill, who was turning left onto US 74 Business, said her vision was obstructed by another vehicle. The two cars collid- ed in the intersection of US 74 Business and Cansler Street. June 18, 2004 - Ptl. T. Harrleson said that Kenneth Bess, of Charlotte, was back- ing his 2004 Mazda at Silver Express parking lot and hit a 1996 Chvrolet operated by Lynn Wells, 2002 Redwood Circle. Damages were estimated at $1900. June 19, 2004 - Cpl. J. C. Shull reported a one-vehicle wreck on Linwod Road involving a 1998 Dodge operated by Jeff Steven Loftin, 122 Center Street. Shull said the Loftin vehicle left the roadway into a ditch = and then overturned in wet grass striking a Duke Power E utility pole and Southern Bell tower phone box dong $6,000 to the v ehicle and $2500 to the poles.
