Lawrence of Kings Mountain was ninth in 20:23.00, and Tyler Hellstrand was 10th in 20:36.00. Cannon was 14th, Bunch 19th, Daniel Ruff 28th, Adams 29th, Haskett 32nd, Livsie 34th and Witherspoon 35th. St. Stephens won the team title with 44 points, followed by KM 44, R-S 49 and Foard 85. Chad Pearson wins Hit The Brixx 5K Kings Mountain's Chad Pearson won the Hit the Brixx 5K in downtown Charlotte Saturday. Pearson, who now runs for Team Addidas, ran the course in 14:37. Baxter McGregor, a KMHS runner, finished fourth over- * all. He ran the course in 18:40. Olivia Wease of Kings Mountain finished first in the female age 1-7 division with a time of 31:56, and Barrett Wease of Kings Mountain finished second in the male age division 8-10 Gaston United U-16 Blue tied Lake Norman Soccer club 3-3 Saturday. Jennifer Helm had two goals and Bennet Suber one for the Blue. Katie Cooke and Suber each had an assist. GUSC is now 2-0-1 in league play. Linda Dellinger has hole-in-one Linda Dellinger scored her first hole-in-one Wednesday at Woodbridge Golf Links. She used a four-wood to ace the 110-yard fifth hole. The Patriots, 1-3, were scheduled to host division leader Pumpkin Center in a Tri- County Conference game yesterday. The Patriots travel to Crest next Wednesday. Kings Mountain took control of last week’s game on the opening kickoff when Deshaun Chambers rambled 75 yards for a touchdown. Joe Chambers scored the two- point conversion to put KM on top 8-0. Later in the quarter, Joe Chambers scored on a one-yard run and Chris Williams caught a two-point conversion pass from Rai Robinson to make the score 16-0. Kings Mountain scored again early in the second quarter when Robinson threw a 35- yard touchdown pas to Buddy Hollifield to make the score 22-0. West Lincoln scored late in the half to cut the margin to 22:8, but the Patriots put the game on ice early i in the fourth quarter when Robinson scored on a quarterback sneak. The Patriots had a well-balanced offensive attack. Joe Chambers gained 94 yards rush- ing in 15 carries and Deshaun Chambers added 15 yards in five carries. Hollifield had 16' yards in thee carries in addition to his 35-yard! touchdown recep- tion. Robinson hit 8-of-13 passes for 119 yards and had three rushes for eight yards. KM spikers sweep Crest in league win Kings Mountain High's volleyball team swept Crest 25-12, 25-9, 25-9 in a Southwestern Foothills Conference match Thursday at Donald L. Parker Gymnasium. Alex Dawson led the Lady Mountaineers with 14 kills. LaRonda McClain added four, Kala Buchanan two and Sheila Adams one. Buchanan was 18-for-18 at the service line with two aces. Brittney Thornburg was 12- for-13, Dawson 11-for-12 with two aces, Jessica Yarbro 6-for-6 and Morgan Childers, McClain and Kristyn Funderburke 4-for-5 each. McClain and Buchanan each had two blocks and Dawson, Marshia Meeks and Yarbro added one each. Funderburke had 11 assists and Erin Summitt one.
