Kings Mountain took a 9-1 Southwestern Foothills Conference and 18-9 overall record into a game last night at Crest. The Lady Mountaineers host Fred T. Foard next Tuesday in a match that, with a victory, could give the KM team a share of the SWEH regular season title. \ Alex Dawson had another outstanding all- around game at St. Stephens, leading the team with 15 kills and 11 digs. She also had three blocks and was 5-for-6 from the serv- ice line. LaRonda McClain contributed 11 kills, three blocks, two digs and was 16-for-18 serving with one ace. Kala Buchanan had six digs, three kills, three blocks and was 9-for-11 serving. In JV action, Kings Mountain lost 25-18, 25-13, falling to 1-9 in the SWFH and 4-16 overall. Coach Cori Cunningham cited Jordan Childers for an outstanding game at setter. “Once again, our block forced our oppo- nent to alter their attack,” Cunningham said. “Our back row defense didn’t adjust quickly enough to that change. Haley Barrett was our shining star in the back row.
