He was a native of Kings Mountain, son of the late William Kemp and Sarah Hoffman Mauney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Broward Mauney, and two brothers, David Mauney and Ernest Mauney. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club, Chairman of the Kings Mountain Board of Education, and board of directors of Kings Mountain Hospital. He was a graduate of Kings Mountain High School, Central School Campus, attended Lenoir- Rhyne College, and graduat- ed from NC State University with a degree in Textile Technology. He was an Eagle Scout. He received the Silver Beaver Award for his support of scouting. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and was active in the community kitchen min- istry of Central United Methodist Church. A Navy Captain during WWII, he served in the South Pacific Theatre. He was a retired textile executive and owner of Mauney Mills. He is survived by his sons, George H. Mauney Jr. and wife Allie of Charlotte, Clark W. Mauney and wife Kathi of Vale, and James E. Mauney and wife Anne of Kings Mountain; daughter, Lynda Mauney Frye and husband The Honorable Randy Frye of Kings Mountain; brothers, W.K. A native of Bessemer City, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Pearl Kiser Ramsey Noblett. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Harold Huffstetler and Kenny Huffstetler, brother Clyde Noblett, and sister Geneva Hunter. She was a retired employ- ee of Cinderella Knit, Kings Mountain, and was an active member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church. LILLIAN HENDERSON KINGS MOUNTAIN - Lillian Camp Henderson, age 91, resident of 907 Church Street, Kings Mountain, NC went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2005 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC and she was daughter of the late Marshall Eugene Camp and Jessie Sanders Camp. She was wife for 41 years to the late Henry Loray Henderson. She was also preceded in death by broth- ers, Charles Camp, George Camp, Nesbitt Camp; sis- ters, Evelyn C. Bolds, and ~ Dorothy C. Tate; son-in-law, James D. Tart and grandson- in-law, Billy Eldridge. She was a retired employ- ee of Mauney Mills, and a long time member of First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC and her Sunday School Class, “The Gleaner B's.” In 2003, she i celebrated her 90th birthday and was greeted by a host of family and dear friends. Until her illness two months prior, she had lived inde- pendently and maintained her home. She was a pre- cious loving Mother and Grandmother and her family will miss her greatly. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Noah Causby Sr. and Willie Lee Fortenberry Freeman. He was also pre- ceded in death by his son, Michael Causby, brother Bobby Causby, and sisters Mary Clayton and Pat Mitchem. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. He was a member of Fairview Masonic Lodge #339. He was a member of the McDonald's Coffee Club, and he loved to travel and fish. He was a retired owner/operator of Causby’s Texaco Service Station. He is survived by his wife, Jenny Causby of Kings Mountain, daughter Jacque Causby of Kings Mountain, and brother Rev. Buddy Freeman and wife Gayla of Conover.
