DARRELL DANTE LICAYAN (Heather Michelle Baker) Licayan-Baker + Heather Michelle Baker and Darrell :Dante Licayan were married Saturday, ‘February 26, 2005 at First Baptist Church, :Kings Mountain. Pastor “Chip” Sloan offici- ‘ated at the 4 p.m. ceremony. © Vocalist was Toni Jones. Marty N. *Childers decorated the church for the cere- mony. Helen Ayscue directed the wedding. ‘The bride was escorted and given in mar- ‘riage by her father, Thomas P. Baker Jr. Her ‘ivory satin gown featured a strapless, heart- ‘shaped neckline with mocha trim. The ‘hemline was also bordered by mocha trim. 'The bodice and lower front skirt was ‘embellished with pearls and embroidery. ‘She carried a bouquet of red roses. Bridal attendants included sister of the ‘bride Kristin Milone of Wilmington as the ‘maid of honor, Hillary Burgess of Hawaii, ‘Jessica Longordo of San Diego, CA, Kristy ‘Felton of Charleston, SC and Jenni Heath of ‘Greenville, NC as bridesmaids. + Anne Scott Baker, April Whitten and Cole ‘Henson served as child attendants. - The bridegroom's brother, Johnny :Licayan of Burlington, was best man. :Groomsmen were Mike Licayan of :Greensboro, Danilo Licayan of Greensboro, ‘both brothers of the groom, Brandon Baker, ‘brother of the bride of Wilmington, James Gaskill of Raleigh, and Maxwell Houseworth of Greenville, NC. Dr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Baker hosted the reception at Kings Mountain Country Club. Heavy hors d’oeuvres were served. Tables were covered with white linens and a red overlay runner centered with small hurri- cane lamps circled by red camellias and greenery. Lovely floral arrangements were made by Marty N. Childers. Table decora- tions were done by Helen Ayscue and Debbie Mauney. Peggy Baker Fulford served the three-tiered wedding cake and Debbie Mauney poured the punch. Music for dancing was provided by Chris Wellons and James Palmer. i Dr. and Mrs. Bryan Baker and Dr. and ‘Mrs. Stephen Baker, uncles and aunts of the bride, hosted the rehearsal dinner at First Baptist Church in the Stained Glass Room after the rehearsal on Friday, February 25 at 6 p.m. Children of the hosts assisted in serving. A dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu with all the trimmings was served. Tables were decorated with the bridal colors of red and white. The bride’s table was marked: with a 3’ bride and groom made from bal- loons. The chocolate groom's cake was cut after the meal. The hosts presented the bride and groom with their china serving pieces. Special guests were the couple’s parents, grandparents and the wedding party The bride is the daughter of Thomas P. ‘Baker Jr. of Kings Mountain and Susan M. ‘Statler of Wilmington. She is the grand- rdaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas P. Baker ‘and Mrs. Edith McBroom of Durham. ‘Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Arts ‘degree in Psychology from East Carolina ‘University and is presently working with ‘autistic children. The groom is the son of ‘Doreen Licayan of Murrells Inlet, SC and ‘the late Pacifico Licayan. Darrell graduated ‘with an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts ‘from Johnson and Wales and is currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Food ‘Service Management. + Following a honeymoon in the ‘Dominican Republic, the couple will reside 'in Charleston, SC. DANNY RICHARD EARLS (Judy Christine Whisnant) Earls-Whisnant Judy Christine Whisnant and Danny Richard Earls, both of Gastonia, exchanged marriage vows May 7 at South Gastonia Pentecostal Holiness Church, Gastonia. Rev. Timmy Whitaker officiated. Jerry and Jessica Ledford, the South Gastonia Pentecostal Holiness Church Praise Team, and Ray Goodson presented wedding music. The bride is the daughter of Joel and Doris Whisnant of Kings Mountain. She is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is employed by Cleveland County Department of Social Services. The groom is the son of Leroy and Marcella Earls of Blacksburg, SC. He is a graduate of Blacksburg High School and is employed by Parker Hannifin in Kings Mountain. The bride was given in marriage by the Lord. A rehearsal dinner was given by the Women of the Church at South Gastonia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Following a wedding trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico the couple will reside in Gastonia. Officers are President Bernie Carpenter of Gastonia, Program VP Swannetta Fink of Cherryville, Membership VP Sharon Jennings of Kings Mountain, Secretary Esther Plonk of Kings Mountain, and Treasurer Barbara Moore of Gastonia. Carpenter outlined plans for the Branch’s participation in Girl Scout Day Camp at Camp Rotary. Taking part are Gail Silkstone, Swannetta Fink, Esther Plonk, Bernie Carpenter, Fran Sincox, Margaret McGinnis, Barbara Moore and B’Ann Vance.
