recent meeting.
Christenson was also re-
elected District 23 president,

sets diaper drive
The Kings Mountain
Junior Woman's Club in
conjunction with Chloe's
Boutique is sponsoring a
drive to collect baby diapers
and wipes for the Kings
Mountain Crisis Ministry.
Diapers of all sizes are wel-
comed and can be dropped
off at Chloe's Boutique, 402
E. Kings Street, Kings
Mountain.
Diapers and wipes are a
great expense for families in
need, so all donations are
greatly appreciated.
Donations will be accepted
during June, July and
August. For more informa-

KM Woman's Club
to hold yard sale
The GFWC-NC Kings
Mountain Woman's Club
will hold its annual yard
sale Saturday, June 11.
Toys, books, household
items, clothing and other
goods will be available.
Proceeds go to the club’s
scholarship fund which
awards a $1,000 scholarship
each year to a graduating
senior from Kings Mountain
High School.

Davidson Alumni
reunion June 19
The Davidson Alumni
Association will hold its
27th annual reunion Sunday,
June 19 at 3 p.m. at Mount
Zion Missionary Baptist
Church Family Life Center,
220 N. Watterson St., Kings
Mountain.
Speaker will be Judge
Lawrence Calvin McSwain.
The public is invited.

Club.
Debutantes and their
chief marshals will be hon-
ored Saturday morning
with a father-daughter
brunch at Deerbrook Golf
Club. A mother’s luncheon
will be held Saturday at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie
Holbrook.
The formal presentation
of the debutantes will be
Saturday at 8 p.m. at
Cleveland Community
College. The event will
include the debutantes,
their chief marshals, assis-
tant marshals, mothers and
invited guests. Music will
be provided by the Frank
Love Orchestra.
The debutante ball allows
the Junior Charity League
of Shelby to continue its
diligent service to’
Cleveland County’s chil-
dren through The Clothing
Room and Kids on the
Block projects.
The 2004-05 school year
saw the league provide
nearly 900 underprivileged
children with coats and
warm clothing. Through the
use of Kids on the Block
puppets, third graders.
throughout Cleveland
County were presented a
program on such delicate
subjects as child abuse,
drug awareness and mental
and physical handicaps.
