The bride-to-be is a graduate of Emmanuel College with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and Clemson University with a Masters of Education in Counselor Education and Student Affairs. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Newton Sankey Gaither Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clellan Nutt. The groom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ronald Ball of Lenoir. His grandparents are Mrs. John Oates Plonk Jr. , the late John Oates Plonk Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Jerome Ball. He graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and North Carolina State University with a Master of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management. The couple plan a Sept. 10 wedding: Mr. and Mrs. Gordon H. Beatty of Seneca, SC, for- merly of Kings Mountain, were honored on June 11. 2005 for the their 50th wed- ding anniversary by their children, Cynthia Beatty Klaine and Gordon Britt Beatty. The actual anniver- sary was on June 9. % ANNIVERSARY CELESTE GAITHER JOHN GARRETT BALL 4-H club organizing A new 4-H group for chil- dren and youth ages five to 18 is starting. An introduc- tory meeting will be June 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. Parents are encouraged to attend also. There is no reg- istration fee. There will be a fundrais- ing yard sale for the club June 25 at the Armory from 7 am. to approximately noon. YATES HARBISON KINGS MOUNTAIN - Clarence Yates Harbison, 82, 802 Woodside Drive, died Saturday, June 18, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Morganton to the late William Moran Harbison and Mullie Lucinda Harbison. He was a retired grocer and a member of First as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and choir member. He served in the Army dur- ing World War II. He is sur- vived by his wife Margaret Harbison; a daughter, Ann P. Harbison of | Kings 2 Mountain; a son, David A. Harbison and wife Il Soon of Columbia; a brother, “William Harbison of Morganton; three sisters, Musette Houser and Susan Noggle of Morganton and Dean Kirkpatrick or Cary; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
