lot of time working on two-point conversions for a scrim-

play much better in the regular season.

things we need to improve on,” he said. “We fumbled the

‘Kings Mountain's offense showed flashes of brilliance.
Sidney Goode and John Gwinn did a good job running and
receiving and quarterback Brandon McClain was effective
on short passing situations.
Farquharson said the Mountaineers will have to be able
to control the ball to beat Hunter Huss, which has a talent-
ed quarterback in D.J. Knox and a host of good receivers.
“It’s going to be a good ball game,” he said. “We're going
to have to play well. We will have to execute well and
sharpen up and do a better job offensively.
“I think Hunter Huss is well-balanced on both sides of
the ball. They have good size on defense and they've got

The Mountaineers lost four starters off last year’s team,
including Heffner, who was an All-State performer, and
goalkeeper Stacey Spicer who came close to setting the state
record for the most shutouts in a career. Both players, along
with Emily Edwards, started for four years and Kara Fujita
started three years.
“So, we have a couple holes to fill,” Potter said, “but we
have a strong group coming back and a couple freshmen
that will be on varsity from day one. Every year you feel
like you can’t replace certain seniors, then have other kids
step up.”
While he’s excited to be able to coach the West all-stars,
Potter says he’d much rather win at KMHS.
“It’s just a fun place to be,” he said.
Both Drs. Chin and Kalsi are board-certified
and are members of the American Medical
