2 OBITUARIES The Kings Mountain Herald KINGS MOUNTAIN POLICE REPORT EVERETTE C. MOORE SR. BLACKSBURG, SC - Everette C. Moore Sr., 78, 237 Wendy Drive, died October 2, 2005 at Fairhaven Nursing Home, Bostic. A native of Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest William Moore and Lillian Wesson Moore. He was also pre- ceded in death by his son, Everette C. Moore Jr., brothers Ira Moore and Edley Moore, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ovelia Peterson and David Peterson and Iva Millwood and Dean Millwood. He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC. He was retired from Foote Mineral, Kings Mountain. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dover Moore of Blacksburg, SC; sons Elbert Sonny Moore Sr. and wife Bennie of Blacksburg, SC, Roger Dale Moore Sr. of Kings Mountain, and Billy Dean Moore Sr. of Blacksburg, SC; daughters Shirley Moore Carroll and husband Gene of Earl, Sandra Moore Cagle and husband Jerry D. of Blacksburg, SC, Doris Moore Richardson and husband Terry of Cherokee Falls, SC, Cathy Moore Thornton and husband Dennis of Casar, and Darlene Moore Gregory and husband Glenn of Blacksburg, SC; brothers Leon Moore and wife Betty of Blacksburg, SC, J.V. FREIDA SEIFERT KINGS MOUNTAIN - Freida Novella (Green) Seifert, 47, 1103 C. Mary's Grove Church Road, Kings Mountain, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. She was a former employee of Lincoln County where Willie Green. she worked as a dispatcher. She was the daughter of the late Fred She is survived by her mother, Rachel Wilson Faircloth of Kings Mountain; former husband, William Paul Seifert of the home; son, Kyle Spencer Cabaniss of the home; daughters, Courtney Cabaniss of the home and Ginger Carpenter Black of Charlotte; brother, Dale J. Green of Kings Mountain; and grandchild, Carter Andrew Black. She was a native of Gaston County and wa a member of the M.S. Society. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cabaniss Childrens Memorial Fund, 1103 B. Mary’s Grove Church Road, Kings Mountain, NC. The funeral was held at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel Sunday, October 2, 2005 at 3 p.m. Officiating were Bishop Will and wife Peggy of Blacksburg, SC, and Rev. H.K. Moore and wife Catherine of Lawson and Rev. Tony Bazen. Burial was private. Blacksburg, SC; sisters Ovelia Camp and husband Bobby of Kings Mountain and Lela Crook and husband Junior of Blacksburg, SC; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grand- children. - The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Grady Gregory at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Blacksburg, SC. Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church cemetery, Blacksburg, SC. Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, was in charge of arrangements. JENNY MAUREEN THREATT CHARLOTTE - Jenny Maureen Threatt, 49, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital. A native of Charlotte, she was a graduate of Olympic High School and furthered her education at Western Carolina University and Central Piedmont Community College. She was employed as a regis- tered nurse with Primary Health Concepts of Gastonia and was a mem- ber of Metropolitan Community Church. She is also remembered for her love of animals." She is survived by Dee Newton, her part- ner of 14 years; and her children, Hollie and Corey Newton; her father, Jack M. Threatt of Charlotte; her brother, Joel Threatt of" Fayetteville; and a niece, Krystal Gregory. Her mother, Juanita Threatt, preceded her in death. Jenny was truly loved by her family and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 5 at Metropolitan Community Church with the Rev. Mick Hinson officiating. Interment was in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. GARLAND STILL KINGS MOUNTAIN - Garland Still, 75, 208 North Gaston Street, died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Forsyth County, NC, son of the late Garland E. Still Sr. and Winnie Vera Mauney Still. He was retired from the US Department of Agriculture in Gaston County where he was a Soil Conservationist. He was also a farmer. He attended Davidson College and was a graduate of North Carolina State University. He was a mem- ber of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and the Kings Mountain Rotary Club. He retired from the US Air Force as a Major. He is survived by his wife, Betty Braswell Still of Kings Mountain; son Garland Everett Still III and wife Vicky of Kings Mountain; daughter Grace Spurrier and husband Bill of Gastonia; brother Dr. John Still and wife Pat of Kings Mountain; sister Grace Christine Still of Nellysford, VA; and three grandchil- dren, Alexandria, Kaitlyn and Emma. A memorial service was conducted by the Rev. Bill Jeffcoat at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
