A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Frances Miller Dixon. She was office manager for Dye Electric in Kings Mountain and a member of First Baptist — Church in Kings Mountain. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Dye of Kings Mountain; sons Rex Dye and wife Tonya of Kings Mountain and Barney Dye and wife Debbie of Kings Mountain; sister Mary Dixon Comstock and husband Wayne of Fayetteville; and grandchildren Lauren Dye, Hannah Dye, Samuel Dye, Madison Dye and Sarah Dye. Mountain Street, died April 18, 2006 at South Haven Assisted Living in Gastonia. A native of Kings Mountain, he was the son of the late Jack Eugene Goins. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Rhinehart. He is survived by his son, Jonathon Goins of Rock Hill, SC; mother Martha Myers Rhinehart of Shelby; brothers Dean Goins and wife Robbin of Kings Mountain, Ron Goins and wife Marion of Washington state, Clifford Tesner and wife Brenda of Shelby, Mark Tesner and wife Donna of Shelby, and William Tesner of Shelby; sis- ter Lynda Skinner of Washington state; and grandmother Willie Myers of Kings Mountain. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Joseph Porter at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. GOINS ALLEN RAY GILBERT SHELBY - Allen Ray Gilbert, 75, 140 Shadowgate Drive, went to be with the Lord peacefully on April 17, 2006 at Carolina's Specialty-Mercy Hospital, Charlotte. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He was son of the late Russell and Edith Whitehall Gilbert. He was a Mason and Past Master of the Marion Lodge #103, Marion, IL. He loved painting, horseback riding and fishing. He was treasurer of the Egyptian Kennel Club for 25 years. He was retired from Salem Printing, Salem, IL. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene Beniez Gilbert of Shelby; stepmother, Mary Gilbert of Sarasota, FL; sons Stuart C. Gilbert and wife Joy of Shelby and Eric P.C. Gilbert and wife Juana of Salem, IL; sister Beverly Gilbert Robinson; and grandchildren Kurt, Scot, Zachery, Krystal, Jessica, Juleigh and Thomas. The family will hold a private service. He was the son of the late James Ervin and Bertha Stroupe Ellison. He was the hus- band of the late Vivian Sparks “Snowbird” Ellison. He was also preceded in death by grandson Phillip Haney and broth- er Melvin Ellison. He was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where he served as Deacon and Trustee. He was retired from Turbo Conveyor, Kings Mountain. He served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife, Hermie Sparks Ellison of Kings Mountain; sons Richard Ellison and wife Dana of Gastonia, James H. Ellison and wife Elizabeth of Shelby, and David L. Norris and wife JoAnn of Charlotte; daughter Demetria Norris Johnson of Gastonia; brothers Tommy Ellison of Old Fort, Doyle Ellison of Kings Mountain and Alvin Ellison of Greenville, SC; sisters Elizabeth Lowery of Shelby, Edith Goforth of Gastonia, Ruth Cooke of Fallston, Viola Killgore of Tennessee, and Nellie Mae Thrift of Lincolnton; four grand- children Leigh Ann Irizarry, Rikki Ellison, Michael Allen and Stacey Anthony; and one great-grandchild Kayleigh Irizarry. LEONARD ‘ANDY’ ANDERSON KINGS MOUNTAIN - Leonard W. “Andy” Anderson, 85, 307 North Carpenter Street, died April 16, 2006 at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was born in Cooke County, TN, son of the late Walter and Hettie Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Wray Anderson. He was a retired body shop repairman, and an active and dedicated member of Eastside Baptist Church in Kings Mountain where he had as Deacon, treasurer, and in many other capacities. He was a faithful Christian, a man of strong character and unfailing honesty. He loved his family and his church. He was a United States Air Force veteran serving during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Lorene Hartsoe Anderson of Kings Mountain; son Terry Anderson and wife Carmen of Kings Mountain; brothers Mack Anderson of Bessemer City and Boyd Anderson of Marion; and special nieces Marlene Bennett of Kings Mountain and Elaine Hord of Louisiana. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Eugene Land at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Eastside Baptist Church. Interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
