= re ARR A SSE | | 2 OBITUARIES RANDOLPH YARBORO KINGS MOUNTAIN - Randolph Yarboro, 92,1104 W. Gold Street Ext., Kings Mountain, died July 12, 2006 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. He was born in Cleveland County. He was the son of the late Albert Yarboro and Ida Hord Yarboro. He was also preceded in death by brothers Lee Yarboro, William Yarboro, Johnny Yarboro, Evans Yarboro, Benny Yarboro, Jessie Yarboro and Max Yarboro; and sisters Elva Webster and Sallie Yarboro. He was a member of Westover Baptist Church for 30 years and he served as a dea- con. He was retired from Bennett Brick and Tile after 22 years of service. He enjoyed car- pentry work, gardening, camping and plow- ing gardens for people. He enjoyed helping others. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary West Yarboro of Kings Mountain; sons Kenneth “Ken” Yarboro of Kings Mountain and Donald “Don” Yarboro and wife Lynn of Kings Mountain; daughters Patricia “Pat” Robbs of Kings Mountain; brother Darvin Yarboro of Shelby; five grandchildren, Wanda Smith, Felisa “Lisa” Caveny, Rev. Johnny Yarboro, Donna “Dee” Acuff, and Ronnie Yarboro; and nine great-grandchil- dren, Brittany McCready, Elizabeth Caveny, Megan Yarboro, Delaney Yarboro, John Thomas Caveny, Hunter Yarboro, Tanner Yarboro, Johnathan McCready, and Derk Acuff. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Dale Angel, Bob Hope and Johnny Yarboro at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. Interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. PATRICIA ELLIS LINCOLNTON - Mrs. Patricia Diane Brothers Ellis, 59, 1495 Stillview Lane, died Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Her funeral was at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Laboratory United Methodist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Ellis was born December 9, 1946 in Burke County to the late Leo and Evelyn Fowler Brothers. She was a cosmetologist/hair designer. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Ellis of the home; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Henson of Kings Mountain; two sons, Tim Barrett of Kings Mountain and Tim Ellis of Lincolnton; two brothers, Tommy Brothers of Kings Mountain and Douglas Brothers of Gastonia; 11 grandchildren, Destiny Barrett, Tristan Henson, Braeden Henson, Seth Henson, Matt Henson, Breanna Barrett, Haddon Barrett, Whitney Ellis, Zachary Ellis, Michael Ellis, Michelle Brown; and two great grandchildren, Paige Brown and Piper Brown. BILLIE JEAN HOYLE KINGS MOUNTAIN - Billie Jean Hoyle, 60, 206 Morris Street, died July 11, 2006 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte. She was born in Lincoln County. She was the daughter of the late Gaither R. and Veda Carter Hoyle. She was wife to the late Russell D. Green. She was an employee of Steel Magnolia Beauty Salon and Cleveland Community College where she taught Adult Education. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She is survived by her niece Pam Wilson and husband Steve of Statesville; nephew Rick Greene and wife Terry of Kings Mountain; great nieces Kerry and Stephanie Wilson of Statesville; great nephews Rick and Kanaan Greene of Kings Mountain; and sis- ter Linda Carter of Kings Mountain. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. Gene Land and Casey Short at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Eastside Baptist Church. Interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. KM PoL LC E REPORT RI a RE The Kings Mountain Herald July 20, 2006 KM man is charged A Kings Mountain man was jailed on a $25,000 secured bond Monday after being accused of an attempt- ed robbery at a local pharma- cy. According to Sgt. Lisa Proctor, KMPD received a call at 4:28 p.m. in reference to an attempted armed rob- bery at KM Pharmacy on Shelby Road. Proctor said the suspect entered the phar- macy concealing his face and demanding medications. The pharmacy did not give him any medications. Proctor said the suspect then left the pharmacy in a reddish /burgundy Dodge Neon traveling west on Shelby Road. Moments later, Officer K.L. Putnam located the suspect vehicle. Arrested was Richard Joshua Harrison, 25, of May’s Grove Church Road, Kings Mountain. He was placed under arrest on a charge of attempted robbery and was also issued a cita- tion for speeding to elude arrest. A resident of Jackson St. reported a break-in of his vehicle. A resident of Merrimont Ave. reported that someone used an air rifle to shoot two windows out of a home on Kaitlyn Dr. and did $1,100 damage. City of Kings Mountain reported meter tampering on Fulton St. A resident of Kateland Dr. reported that someone used a BB gun to shoot the wind- shield of his Chevy truck. Damage was $400. A resident of Center St. reported a break-in and dam- age to a window. A resident of Gastonia reported that someone broke into a home on W. Parker St. and did $1,525 damage to a door frame, commode, and bath tub. A resident of Pearce Ct. reported that someone scratched the paint on her vehicle. Shelby man charged in shooting The Shelby Police Department has arrested Robert Harold Roberts, 20, of 604 Ligon Street in Shelby for the shooting of Justin Sanders, Adrian Sanders and Wade Hamilton, all of Shelby, which occurred at 525 West Elm Street in Shelby on May 16, 2006.
