Below are Herman and Mary on their wedding day. Mary and Herman Greene celebrate 50th anniversary Herman and Mary Greene celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, August 5, 2006. Their children, Tim and Dale, hosted a reception at First Baptist Church. The Christian Ministry Center was dec- orated with many of Herman and Mary's favorite antiques and family heirlooms. The reception was attended by more than 160 family and friends congratulat- ing the couple and wishing them many more happy years together. The family asked that in lieu of gifts, donations be made to the Mission Readiness Fund at First Baptist Church, and expressed thanks to all person who have generously donated to the mission funds. The bride is the daughter of Kenneth H. Lail of Greer, SC and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smith Jr. of Kings Mountain. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Lail of Shelby and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wilkerson of Swannanoa. She is employed by Bali in Kings Mountain and plans to attend CCC in Shelby in the spring of 2007 and hopes to enter cosmetology school. Chris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Worcester of Kings Mountain and the grand- son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Norris of Cramerton. He is employed by the Western Auto Distribution Center in Gastonia. Christian Lail gave his sister in marriage, Bridesmaids were Miss Chelsey McNeil, Ms. Amber Brooks and Ms. Brittany Morris, all of Kings Mountain. Hannah Cooke of Kings Mountain was the flower girl. Troy Worcester was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Shane Worcester of Kings Mountain and Joshua Moore of Cramerton. Noah Moss was the ring bearer. Wedding directors were Mrs. Brenda W. Black of Kings Mountain and Ms. Ellen C. Lail. A reception was held following the wed- ding in the CFBC fellowship building. The MR. AND MRS. CHRISTOPHER MOORE (Katie Marie Lail) couple plan to take a honeymoon at a later day. They now reside in Kings Mountain. The Kings Mountain September 14 September 14, 2006 High School choral depart- ment will hold its annual barbecue Friday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. in the lobby of Barnes Auditorium. Plates are $6 each. Orders of 10 or more plates can be delivered to local businesses. The Kings Mountain Historical Museum, 100 East Mountain Street, is opening a special exhibit entitled “Honor Our Veterans” through November 15. The exhibit features memorabilia, uni- forms, weapons and photos of veterans from the Revolutionary War up to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
