The Kings Mountain Herald October 5, 2006 Pop Warner Jr. pee wees win fourth straight 20-18 Zack Wilson blocked a two- point extra point kick in the final minute to preserve a 20-18 win for Kings Mountain's junior pee wees over Stanley Saturday at City Stadium. It was the fourth straight win for the Mountaineers, who play at Gastonia Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Da’Shon Guest rushed for over 100 yards and scored two touchdowns and an extra point for the Mountaineers. Chad Sanders scored a touchdown and an extra point. Travis Oates, Elijah Whitaker, Alex Reynolds and Zack Wilson stood out on defense for KM. Goffs, Perry, Worley win North golf tourney North Elementary School PTO held its first annual Captain's Choice Golf tournament Sept. 16 at Kings Mountain Country Club with all proceeds benefitting the school. Eight teams participated. First place winners were Brian Goff, Dennis Goff, Bob Perry and Carter Worley. Second were KG Etters, Alan Van Dyke, Joey Proctor and Gary Holloway. Third were Ty Withers, Chris Harrison, Chris Crowl and Brett Thompson. Prizes were awarded to Robert Scism for longest drive and Rodney Sellers, Alan Van Dyke and David Estridge for closest to the pin. H Kings Mountain's pee wees suffered their first loss of the season, dropping a 20-0 decision to Stanley. Christopher Montgomery led the Mounties with 100 yards rushing and a touchdown and extra point. Jordan Littlejohn scored on a 55- yard pass from Dalton Cash, and Tico Crocker scored on a 50- yard run. The mitey mites carry a 1-3 record to Belmont Saturday for a 12:30 game against the Belmont Braves. BM The KM junior mitey mites fell to Stanley 48-0.
