E 2 J vy The Kings Mountain Herald Lacey Caitlin Robinson was crowned Miss Kings Mountain . 2006 at the Miss Kings Mountain Pageant Saturday night at the Joy Theatre. i - Seven girls from Cleveland and Gaston counties competed for the Miss KM crown. There were six crowns handed out and 22 contestants. : Tiny Miss Contestants (age 1-3) took the stage first. Kalie Nicole Moss, 1, was carried in by her mother Kimberly Cogdell, of Kings Mountain. Madisyn Brooke Shipman, escorted by her mother Jennifer Shipman, of Kings Mountain, was next to take the stage. Shipman was crowned 2006 Tiny Miss. She received the crown, and Moss was named first runner-up. Both walked away with trophies and flowers. Two Wee Miss contestants competed for their crown with the simple innocence and elegance of 4-6 year olds. Kayley Bowen, 5, daughter of Chris and Brooke Bowen of Kings Mountain, received the crown and Emily Roxanne Miller, 4, daughter of Brad and Roxie Miller of Stanley, was runner up. Both also were * rewarded with flowers and trophies. Four ladies in the 7-9-year-old category tried to out-smile each other for their shot at Little Miss 2006. Elizabeth Blake Ballard, 9, daughter of Ronald and Crystal Ballard of Bessemer City, received the crown, Little Miss 2006 trophy and bouquet. Angel Peterson, 9, daughter of Jerry and Jean Peterson of Kings Mountain, was first runner-up with a trophy and flowers. Erica | Carpenter, 9, daughter of Scott and Linda Carpenter, of Kings ~~ Mountain, was second runner-up with a trophy and flowers. "McKinley Smith, 8, daughter of Craig and Tiffany Smith of Kings Mountain, was third runner-up with a trophy and flowers. Kellie Ford, 11, Taylor Thomas, 11, and Haley Alexis Rotenberry, 11, competed in the 10-12 year category for Junior Miss. Rotenberry, daughter of Michael and Lisa Rotenberry of Kings Mountain, won the crown, Junior Miss trophy and win- ner’s bouquet. Ford, daughter of Jay and Michelle Ford of Kings Mountain, was first runner-up. Second runner-up was Thomas, | daughter of Michael and Crissy Thomas of Kings Mountain. All | of the ladies received trophies and flowers. Four ladies competed in the Teen Miss category, ages 13-15. Jasmine Burch, 15, daughter of Ronald and Sheila McClain of Kings Mountain, was crowned Teen Miss 2006 and received the winner’s trophy and bouquet. Erin Hendry, daughter of Heather “and Dana Valcourt of Bessemer City, was first runner-up. Second runner-up was Savannah Horne, 13, daughter of Kenny and Paulette Horne of Kings Mountain, and third runner-up went to Jasmine Noblitt, 13, daughter of Bill and Tyulekka Noblitt of Bessemer City. All of the ladies received trophies and flowers. ~ Lacey Robinson, 16, daughter of Fred and Debra Robinson of Bessemer City, was crowned the queen. Robinson is a junior at North Gaston High School. As Miss KM, she will represent the i city in the Christmas Parade and serve as diplomat until the © crown is passed to another lucky girl next year. Kristen Leigh Long, 17, daughter of Bryan and Leigh Ann Long of Kings Mountain, came in as first runner-up, Long, a senior at KMHS, received a trophy and racked up the flowers, from dozens BET Fed Ea lo-of supporters in the audience. «oimiio on finsds wid : haior KMHS junior Brooke-LeAnn Davis; 16, daughter of Mark and Wendy Johnson of Kings Mountain, was second runner-up with a trophy and flowers.
