Cleveland County History
This brief six-night course will trace the history of the county. We will go back to the American Revolution to look at the battle of Kings Mountain.
Emphasis will be given to the development of the politics of the county and the famous “Shelby Dynasty” which had great power and influence in
state government from the 1920s to the 1940s. Emphasis will be on the period before the last half century. 12 hours. Instructor: Dr. Barry Hambright
