The Kings Mountain Herald PHYLLIS MAYBERRY HAMBRIGHT : KINGS MOUNTAIN - Phyllis Mayberry Hambright, 67, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2007 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia, under the care of Gaston Hospice. She was born in Gaston County. She was raised in Crowders Mountain. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Jess Willard Mayberry and Edith Mullinax Mayberry. She was also preceded in death by sister Jane Mayberry Osterman; three brothers, Jim Mayberry, Blanchard Mayberry and David Mayberry; and one nephew, Tim Cole. She was a member for 26 years of Macedonia Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where she served as Assistant Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hillard Kish Hambright of Kings Mountain; son David Kish Hambright and wife Kristen of Weddington; daughters Rita Hambright Gibbons and husband Randy of Kings Mountain, Tina Hambright Everhart and husband Lee of Shelby, and Tabitha Hambright Hermsen and husband Jesse of Tega Cay, SC; brothers Marshall Mayberry of Kings Mountain, Chuck Mayberry of Clover, SC, and Michael Mayberry of Kings Mountain; sister Barbara Sharpe of Gastonia; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Ronnie Wilson and David Philbeck at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment was in Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery. Piedmont Avenue, died May 12, 2007 at her home. She was born in Gaston County. She was the daughter of the late Samuel F. Angel and Martha Angel Johnston. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, holding offices both in her home church and in the Gastonia District. She and her husband were involved with church youth leadership for over 20 years. She was a former employee of Cable Link, Kings Mountain, and the City of Kings Mountain Codes Department. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John FE. Clemmer of Kings Mountain; daughters Dana Clemmer Wray and husband David of Bessemer City, and Martha “Marti” C. Ringenbach and hus- band LTC Todd D. Ringenbach of Fairfax Station, VA; four grand- children, Maggie Wray Scruggs and husband Jonathan, J.D. Wray, Mallory and Konnor Ringenbach; great-granddaughter Eva Scruggs; brothers Sam Angel III of Dallas, James Angel of Dallas, and Scott Angel of Bentonville, AR; and step-sister Martha Jo Badger of Gastonia. She was born in Cleveland County. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Peterson and Mamie Wright Peterson. She was wife of the late Herb Kimble. She was also preceded in death by son Keith Ramsey. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Grover. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her sons, Morris Ramsey and wife Shirley of Gaffney, SC, Ricky Ramsey of Shelby and Michael Ramsey and wife Teresa of Earl; brothers J.W. Peterson of Kings Mountain, Robert Peterson of Shelby and Thurman Peterson of Kings Mountain; sisters Pauline Turner of Grover, Alma Bolin of Grover, Annie Mae Adams of Kings Mountain, Betty Ruth Biddix of Kings Mountain and Shirley Philbeck of Patterson Springs; five grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. EDDYS LATHAM WARE KINGS MOUNTAIN - Eddys Latham Ware, 92, resident of Summit Place, Kings Mountain, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born in York County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Walter Ross and Iva Gettys Latham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Luther Ware Jr., and her four brothers, Clyde Latham, Boyd Latham, Earle Latham and Brice Latham. She was a graduate of York High School, York, SC and Erskine College, Due West, SC. Mrs. Ware taught school in Saluda and York Counties, SC, and in Cleveland County. She retired from Kings Mountain High School in 1981. She was also a former member of local, state and national teacher organizations and the Beta Chi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary society for women educators. She was a member of Boyce Memorial ARP Church, Kings Mountain, where she taught for many years in the Youth Department. She was a former teacher of the Katherine Dale Bible Class and member of the church choir. She is survived by her sons, Melvin Ware and wife Janet of Blacksburg, SC and Edwin Ware and wife Carol of Morganton; daughter Marcia Ware Brinkley and husband Jack of Lawrenceville, Ga; grandchildren Brian Ware and wife Brandi of Kings Mountain, Susan W. Anderson and husband Kell of Barnwell, SC, Kimberly W. Ellis and husband David of Mooresville, Kenneth Ware of Decatur, GA, and Karen Brinkley of Lawrenceville, Ga; and great-grandchil- dren Hannah Ellis, Cameron Ellis, Nathan Anderson, Aidan Anderson, William Anderson, and Mackenzie Ware. DIANE BAITY CALDWELL KINGS MOUNTAIN - Diane Baity Caldwell, 57, 304 Somerset Drive, went to be with the Lord on May 11, 2007 at Hospice of Cleveland County. She was born in Cleveland County. She was the daughter of the late Harley Lawrence and Lois McCart Baity. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Henry Baity. She was a member of Oak View Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Johnnie Caldwell of Kings Mountain; sons Johnnie R. Caldwell II of Kings Mountain and Bill “Eddie” Parker II and wife Dorene of Kings Mountain; daughter Kimberly Parker Hanline of Ft. Pierce, FL; mother-in-law Mildred Caldwell of Kings Mountain; brother John Larry Baity and wife Voncille of McClenny, FL; brother-in-law’ David Caldwell and wife Teresa of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren, Kristen Parker of Kings Mountain, Brandi Davis of Kings Mountain, McKenzie Parker of Kings Mountain, Stephen Hanline of Ft. MOZELLE ROBINSON IVEY KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mozelle Robinson Ivey, 89, 507 West Gold Street, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at Hospice of Cleveland County. She was born in Cherokee County, SC, daughter of the late James C. Robinson and Fannie Martin Robinson. She was the widow of the late Paul Ivey and was also preceded in death by brothers Jimmy, Charlie, Darvin, Clarence, Bill and Vernon Robinson, and sisters Lena Porter, Florence Turner and Nellie Boyd. She was a very loving and giving mother. She retired from Margrace Mills, Kings Mountain. She was a mem- ber of Faith Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where she was a Sunday School teacher and kept the nursery. She is survived by her son, James Ivey and wife Sharon of Carthage, NC; daughter Jeanette Cook and husband Charles of Vidalia, GA; brother John Robinson of Shelby; sisters Beulah Brackett of Grover and Viola Evans of Grover; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Jimmy Phillips and Mack ries at Killdeer Farms and shop- ping for Mother’s Day flowers when the accident occurred. Maesue McGill, 84, Mabel Carpenter, 89, Janice Jernigan, 65, Hazel Webster, 75, and Ware were all riding in the van, driven by Judy Lee, 56. Both drivers and all of the passengers were trans- ported to nearby hospitals. Five were sent to Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Ware was sent to Gaston and later to Carolinas Medical Center and the girl was airlifted to CMC, Waters said. WRECK From 1A NC 216. MAE SUE HORD MOSS RALEIGH - Mae Sue Hord Moss, 94, resident of Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Home in Raleigh since 2003, formerly of Kings Mountain, died peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at her resi- dence. She was born in Kings Mountain to the late David Fletcher Hord Sr. and the late Fannie Spake Hord. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband George Wingfield Moss who died in 1984, her sis- ter Sara Nell Hord Fulton, and a brother, Dr. D.F. Hord Jr. She graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in 1933. She taught at Bethware High School and Kings Mountain High School for over 36 years. She was a member of the North Carolina Association of Educators, and the Retired Teachers Association of Cleveland County. ) She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kings Mountain where she was an active mem- ber of Circle #1. She was a member of the GFWC- NC, Kings Mountain Woman's Club where she has been a member for over 50 years and desig- nated as an honorary member. She received the Distinguished Service Award from the club in 2000. She was past president of the Town and Country Garden Club and an active member for many years of the Home Arts Club. She loved a good game of Bridge and was a member of several Bridge Clubs. She is survived by three daughters, Susan Lee Moss Grigg of Raleigh and husband G. Glenn Grigg Jr, formerly of Kings Mountain, George Anne Moss Marston who has made her home in La Jolla, California since 1969, and Sara Nell Moss Wright of Cary, who is a career librarian; five grandchildren, David Grigg of Burlington, George Grigg of Cary, Laura Grigg Powell of Edenton, Sara Grigg Brame of New Bern and James Lindsay Wright of Atlanta, GA; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Eoline Keeter Hord of Kings Mountain; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Lee Thomas at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church, Kings Mountain.
