The Kings Mountain Herald June 14, 2007 EVERETTE W. ‘BUCK’ BRIDGES KINGS MOUNTAIN - Everette W. “Buck” Bridges, 78, 802 Katherine Avenue, died June 5, 12007 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. He was born in Eastman, GA. He was the son of the late Everette Theodore and Florence Faircloth Bridges. He was husband of the late Frances Stapp Bridges. He was also preceded in death by his sis- ter, Delores Falls. He was a member of Patterson Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, where he served as recording secretary for several years. He was retired from Martin Marietta Aggregates, Kings Mountain, after 30 years of service. He played and was an avid fan of Kings Mountain High School football. He coached Little League Baseball. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Starlene ' Cooke Bridges of Kings Mountain; sons Rev. John EF. Bridges and wife Roxanne of Kings Mountain and Gene Allen and wife Frances of Murrells Inlet, SC; stepsons Marty Baker of Cherryville and Mark Baker of West Gardiner, ME; stepdaughter Kay Harley and husband Oscar of Charlotte; brother Charles R. Bridges of Kings Mountain; sister Sue Phifer of Kings Mountain; six grandchildren, Chris ‘Allen, Trent Allen, Thomas Bridges, Elizabeth Bridges, Rebekah Bridges and Shevaugn Greenlee; “and three great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted by the Revs. Jeff Hensley and Buddy Williams at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel. Interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. He was a for- mer employee of EDC, Grover, as an inventory control specialist for 14 years and a former profes- sional boxer and kick boxer. He is survived by his parents, W.J. Carroll and Pat Carroll of Kings Mountain; paternal grandfa- ther Woodrow Carroll of Blacksburg, SC; brother Ronnie Carroll and wife Melisa of Forest City; 'sis+* ter Elizabeth Nicholson ‘and husband David of Kings Mountain; niece Jenna Nicholson; nephew _ Tyler Pennington; and girlfriend Kelli Hayes of : Gastonia. KINGS MOUNTAIN - John Wesley Thomasson Sr., 94, 1002 Woodside Drive, died June 6, 2007 at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was born in Murphy, NC. He was son of the late Charles Wesley Thomasson and Shefonia Griffin Thomasson. He was the husband of the late Catherine Jones Thomasson. He was also preceded in death by daughter Joan Thomasson Ramsey and sons Jackie R. Thomasson and John Wesley Thomasson Jr. He was retired from Lithium Corp., Bessemer City. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a loving father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Danny A. Thomasson and wife Kathleen of Durham, and Gerald Thomasson and wife Brenda of Bessemer City; daughter-in-law Linda H. Thomasson of Kings Mountain; son-in-law Ralph Ramsey of Gastonia; sister Irene Lunsford of Murphy; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great- grandchild. A graveside service was conducted by the Rev. Robert Eng at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Mountain Rest Cemetery. He was born in Cherokee County, SC, son of the late Walter Holmes and Louzetta E. Lovelace Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul “Jack” Wilson. He was retired from Pneumafil Corp. after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of WW II serv- ing in the United States Army and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Kings Mountain where he was a former Sunday school teacher and served in other capacities. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Payseur Wilson of Kings Mountain; son Walter “Jeep” Wilson and wife Tonya of Kings Mountain; grand- children Dr. Micheal Scott Wilson and fiance Dr. Kelly Brooks of Charlotte, and Adam Clay Wilson of Kings Moy sister-in- law Audrey Wilson of Hammett at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at Grace United Methodist Church.
