} 1 The Kings Mountain Herald August 16, 2007 MEETINGS I i C. Lorance “Rance” Henderson and Betty Faye Ledford were married on Sunday, August 18, 1957 at First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. They began their long and suc- cessful careers in deaf education in Salem, Oregon, where their two children, David and Julie, were born. David and his wife, Sherri, of Raleigh, have two chil- dren, Sarah and Abbie. Julie and her husband, Rod, also of Raleigh, have three children, SOCIAL wu RIEFS i MR. AND MRS. RANCE HENDERSON NOW i Jessica, James and Andrew. Rance and Betty have lived in Morganton since 1970 where they have been very active in their church and community. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by taking their children and their families to the Barcelo Maya resort in Mexico for a week in June. In July, they enjoyed a 21-day tour of Europe with their long-time friends, GI and Jo Wilson. On Sunday August 12, family MR. AND MRS. RANCE HENDERSON THEN Hendersons honored on 50th anniversary and close friends gathered to cel- ebrate this happy occasion at the First Baptist Church in Morganton, Rance and Betty's church home of 37 years. Flowers honoring the couple were placed in the sanctuary by their children and their families, who also surprised them with the gift of a special anthem, Enduring Love. This composi- tion, written for and in honor of. Rance and Betty's anniversary, was sung by the chancel choir, The 56th annual Peter and Poly Lail reunion will be held Sunday, September 9 at the Bethlehem Community Center, 1017 Bethlehem Road, Kings Mountain.
