Magnolia Garden Club meets The October meeting of the Magnolia Garden Club was held at Eakers Nursery in Cherryville. The club members enjoyed walking the grounds of the spa- cious nursery. The nursery guide shared various types of shrubs and plants, giving both their common and botanical name, that would be suitable for the club’s uptown garden. The group bought several plants to start the rejuvenation project. The club decided to wait to see how much could be salvaged from the garden before purchas- ing more plants. After the nursery tour, the club enjoyed a delicious noon meal at Poor Folks Café in downtown Cherryville. The club will resume its regu- lar meetings next month at the home of Glenda Colburn.
