FRED MARSHALL KISER
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Fred Marshall
Kiser, 83, died April 26, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Cleveland County. He
was the son of the late
William Wesley and
Hennretta White
Kiser. He was also
preceded in death by
brothers Rufus Kiser,
James Kiser, Melton
Kiser and Leroy Kiser;
and sisters Lavonia
Sipes and Margaret
Megan.
He was owner and operator of Fred
Kiser’s Minit Grill for over 42 years. He
was an avid fisherman, hunter, and
enjoyed playing softball.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years,
Coleen Ellis Kiser of Kings Mountain;
son Danny Kiser and wife Hilda of
Kings Mountain; daughter Dian Kiser of
Fort Mill, SC; brother Wesley Kiser of
Kings Mountain; grandchildren Jeffery
Lee, Mechelle Long and Russell Kiser;
and great-grandchildren Brittany,
Keristen, Michael Earl, Garrett, Kennedy,
Kelsey and Keith.
The funeral was conducted by Rev.
James Lochridge and Donald L. Ellis at 7
p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 at Ollie
Harris Memorial Chapel. A private
graveside service was held Tuesday,
April 29, 2008 at Mountain Rest
Cemetery.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Nan Jean Gantt
Grant, 73, 415 Hawthorne Road, died
Ap] 25, 2008 at Hospice Wendover,
Shelby.
She was born in
Cleveland County.
She was the daughter
of the late William
McKinley Gantt and
Zella Dennis Gantt.
She was a retired
speech therapist for
Kings Mountain District Schools. She
was a member of the Kings Mountain
Little Theater and a cultural arts enthusi-
ast.
She is survived by her sons, John
Grant of Kings Mountain and David
Grant and wife Reba of Dallas; and four
grandchildren, Kenny Grant, Steven
Grant, Brianna Grant and Ashli Hensley.
An entombment service will be con-
ducted by Pastor Carroll Henderson
Friday, May 2, 2008 at 4 p.m. at
Mountain Rest Cemetery.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Eva Tucker
Foster, 84, 1015 Second Street, died April
23, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical
Center, Shelby.
She was born in
Spartanburg County,
SC. She was ‘the
daughter of the late
George Tucker and
Lavonia Tucker. She
was the wife of the
late Ben Gold Foster.
She was also preced-
ed in death by two
sisters and a brother. She was a home-
maker.
She is survived by her sons, Donald G.
Foster and wife Tilly of Grover and Ben
Franklin Foster of Grover; daughters
Joan FE. Sanders and husband Willard of
Kings Mountain, Minnie Lee Arrowood
and husband Robert of Cherryville,
Brenda Kaye Patterson of Kings
Mountain, Betty Foster Ross and hus-
band Archie of Cherryville, and Emmie
Janet Gibson and husband John of
Blacksburg, SC; sister Laura Brewington
of Florence, SC; 22 grandchildren and 51
great grandchildren.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Jimmy Dean
Sisk, 61, of Kings Mountain died April
26, 2008 at Golden
Years Rest Home,
Fallston, NC. He was
born on August 5,
1946 in Cleveland
County, NC to Gladys
Smith Sisk and the
late James Sisk.
Mr. Sisk was retired
from Construction
and was a veteran of the United States
Navy.
The funeral was at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday
at Mountain Rest Cemetery with Mr. Bill
Cromer officiating.
Survivors are his mother Gladys Smith
Sisk; brother Don Sisk and family of
Smyrna, SC; sister Dottie Cromer and
husband Bill of Kings Mountain;
nephew David Cromer; nieces Tracy
Wilson and husband Reggie and Beth
Cromer; great nephew Michael Keough
and great niece Brittany Keough.

JEREMY DWAYNE COOKE
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Jeremy Dwayne
Cooke, 29, 122 Peoria Lane, died April
25, 2008 at Cloveiond Regional Medical
Center.
He was a native of
Cleveland County
and an employee of
Baldor Electric in
Kings Mountain. He
was preceded in
death by his paternal
grandmother, Patsy
Cooke.
He was an avid
hunter, loved baseball and helped coach
Legion baseball and YMCA baseball. He
was a member of Sunnyside Baptist
Church, Bessemer City.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle
Ledbetter Cooke of Kings Mountain;
sons Alan Michael Heinbach and Justin
Tyler Heinbach of Kings Mountain;
paternal grandfather Espy Cooke of
Kings Mountain; maternal grandparents
Preston and Gloria Collins Todd of
Kings Mountain; and a sister.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Virginia
“Jenny” Bookout Reynolds, 88, 606 East
Ridge Street, died April 26, 2008 at Kings
Mountain Hospital.
A native of Alexander County, she was
the daughter of the late Vester Bookout
and Sarah Ethel Wells Bookout. She was
also preceded in death by her husband,
John Clay Reynolds Jr.
She was a lifelong member of Boyce
Memorial ARP Church and retired from
Margrace Mills in Kings Mountain.
She is survived by her son, Johnny
Reynolds and wife Marlene of Mount
Holly; grandchildren Stacey R. Davis
and husband Benji of Gastonia and
Mindy R. Morrow and husband Matt of
Kings Mountain; and great grandchil-
dren Ben Davis, Kendall Davis and
Matthew Morrow.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev.
Doug Petersen at 11 a.m. Wednesday,
April 30, 2008 at Boyce Memorial ARP

GASTONIA - Mrs. Wilma Bobbitt
Deese, 83, 1210 Churchill Drive, passed
away April 27, 2008 at Gaston Memorial
‘Hospital.
She was a native of Cleveland County,
daughter of the late Hosie and Mary Lou
Parrish Bobbitt. She was a housewife
and a member of First Baptist Church of
Gastonia.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Rhonda and Buster Pervine
of Gastonia; sisters Ruby Bridges of
Gastonia and Louise King of Kings
Mountain; grandson Christopher Lee
Etherton and wife Shana; great grand-
sons Zach, Ryland and Hunter Etherton;
and niece Kay Bridges of Gastonia.
A memorial service was conducted by
the Rev. Ronnie Bowers at 2 p.m.
Wednesday in the chapel of Ward
Funeral Service. Burial will be private at

She was born in Gaston County, daugh-
ter of the late Carl Edgar Conrad and
Wyona Dare Frazier Conrad. She was a
homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Hallas Lake
Gibson III of Gastonia and Brian Keith
Gibson and wife Chris of Kings Mountain;
daughter Tammy Michelle Beauford and
Tony D. of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren and
four great grandchildren.

Kings Mountain.
