Page 16 LIFESTYLES KM native writes book to help little kids id big @ eweaver@kingsmountainherald.com Tamra Moody, formerly of Kings Mountain, has a new children’s book coming out and it may be the first of many in a series tailored to help children overcome big obstacles like divorce. Moody was inspired to write children’s books about divorce and other issues after witnessing the affect that her dissolution of marriage had on her son. She developed DJ's: Mom, -Inc., out: of Charlotte, to help children, like her son, overcome these obstacles and under the belief that kids can make a difference in the world. “The primary objective of her books is to help little chil- dren identify and address big issues that concern them while at the same time pro-- moting the joy of having fun as kids,” according to Moody. The stories allow kids to interact with the main char- acter, DJ, and his friends on topics that relate to the needs of many children in modern life. “DJ is a witty, computer- savvy little kid who; from the experience of his own big issues, addresses situations that kids are faced with today. After undergoing an incredible amount of stress from his own parents’ painstaking divorce, this loveable and brave little boy understands the necessity for support and offers encour- agement to his young read- _ers,” according to Moody. “®] often consults. with his favorite teacher, Ms. Love]oy, on most issues discussed.” Moody said that she noticed her own son’s need for support after the breakup of her marriage. “We believe this premier book offers a lot Of Opportunities,” she said. 1 is a fun read that allows te reader ic “lieve the mule: is speaking direct] : Im or her.
