May 29, 2008 The Kings Mountain Herald ‘Mr. Sexy Legs’ Aloysio Lisboa (left), a foreign exchange stu- dent from Brazil, went on his first cruise recently with mem- bers of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Foreign Exchange Student takes to high seas with ‘sexy legs’ Aloysio Lisboa, a foreign exchange student from Brazil, went on his very first cruise to Bermuda recently with his coor- dinator Ginger Jeffcoat, of AIFS Foundation, and several cou- ples from St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Lisboa, 17, had a memorable time, winning the “Mr. Sexy Legs” contest onboard the ship Norwegian Majesty. In another cruise ship event, he was asked to participate in the “YMCA Village People” performance on stage as the construction work- er character of the group. He attends Kings Mountain High School. Lisboa is staying with Nikki and Rodney Paulson and their family of Kings Mountain. He will be going back to Brazil this sum- mer. Local students received diplomas from GWU Kings Mountain students were among 777 to receive their diplo- mas during three separate events at Gardner-Webb University. They include Susan Allen, MA in School Administration; Lashonda Hunter, BS in Social Studies; Jacqueline Jarvis, BS in Chemistry and Biology (Magna Cum Laude, . Alpha Chi, Honors Program); Amy ‘Johnson, MA in School BS in Accounting (Cum Laude). Administration; Brandy Kern, AA in Nursing; David McDonald, MA in School Administration; Ashley Morris, BS in Accounting; Timothy Reed, MA in School Administration; Holly Robinson, MA in School Administration; Patricia Ware, MA in School Administration; and Rebecca Wells, Brittney Thornburg on Catawba Dean’s List Brittney Thornburg of Kings Mountain was recently named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Catawba College in Salisbury. Brittney also plays softball at - Catawba. She is a former mem- ber of the 2005 and 2006 back- to-back 3A state softball cham- pionship team at Kings Mountain High School.
