The Kings Mountain Herald Wednesday, April 1, 2009 x—" A Special Message from Mark Beach Properties, Inc. Hope, Faith, Good News These are not words we hear much today. It seems everyone from Wall Street to Main Street, Washington to the great halls of Congress are all operating out of fear and desperation. They, even we, have lost hope and many have lost their faith. But the Lord says “Fear not, neither be dismayed, for I have not given you a spirit of fear but of peace, love, and a sound mind.” There is hope. We can have faith, if we look in the right direction. Faith in a God who loves us. Hope in each other, in our community, in hard work, and in giving a helping hand. Good news does come. Mark Beach Properties, Inc. and Big E Bar-B- -Q would like to publicly thank Dan Asycue, President of Alliance Bank & Trust, and a Kings Mountain resident, for giving us hope. Thank you for your willingness to loan the money to make Big E Bar-B-Q, com- ing to the old Burger King building, a reality. You, Dan, have de- cided not to operate out of fear but have shown the courage to take a stand for our small businesses, our community, and for each other. When so many big banks are operating out of greed and profit before people, you have shown us the kind of leader- ship and strength that it will take to bring us all out of the dark- ness of this economic crisis. I bank at Alliance Bank & Trust. Where do you bank? As for me and my business, I will pink where I am more than just a number, a small face in the crowd. A place where Ronnie, Martha and all the other employees are always happy to see me come in. Once again to Alliance Bank and Trust and all employees, I am so proud of you. Mik Beack Also, from Eric Pardo, the Big E in Big E’s Bar-B-Q would like to personally thank Dan Asycue and Alliance Bank & Trust for making this dream a reality. Dan, when the other banks were of- fering us the Butt, you gave us the whole Hog! We are going to (g turn it into award winning bar-b-q, ribs, chicken, and much more. You will always have a place at our table. Thank you, Lott Pred br 2
