or Egg Hunt
3,000 hidden eggs disappear in minutes
The City of Kings
Mountain’s annual Easter
Egg Hunt hosted the
largest crowd of hunters
this Saturday at the com-
munity playground be-
side the YMCA.
The event began sev-
eral years ago, but never
before had it attracted so
many little ones and fam-
ily members. “This is a
great turn out,” said City
Special Events Director
Ellis Noell at the hunt. “I
only wish every kid could
have gotten an egg.”
The city hid 3,000
eggs at various spots in
the playground. But with
hundreds of kids partici-
pating the eggs went fast.
At the event, Noell en-
couraged children with
larger loots to share an
egg with those whose
baskets were empty. And
the spirit of the Easter
holiday, to love others as
God commands, came
shining through when a
few of the little ones
reached into their baskets
and offered an egg to
their neighbor. ;
But even the ones,
who missed out on the
hunt, were still able to
enjoy the Easter bunny,
who arrived in a Kings
Mountain fire truck, and
the critters at the petting
zoo, provided by the
