Mr. Hamm was born in Cleveland County, NC, the son of the late Johnny Alexander and was also preceded in death by a son, George Shane Patterson. Mr. Hamm was an auto me- chanic. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, James Duane Patterson and wife, : Robert G. Foster Jr., 82, of 105 Amy Drive, died June 1, 2009 at White Oak Manor.
