Mark Barnes, district superintendent of the North Car- olina Church of the Nazarene, delivered the dedicatory sermon at the dedication of the new worship center Sunday at 10 a.m. at 121 Countryside Road. Members of the congregation held their first service in the new sanctuary and Sunday School May 31. For the past three years the congregation has been worshiping at Kings Mountain YMCA while plans for the new church were underway. First Church of the Nazarene was located for many years on Cherokee Street in Kings Mountain. The church sold that property and purchased 33 acres on Countryside Road and com- pleted a handsome steel structure to house a worship center, class- rooms and offices. Tommy Hall, a local Kings Mountain home builder, served as general contractor for the construction of the new church building. His wife, Tina Hall served with the church decorating committee as they made decisions regarding the fixtures and furnishings for the building. Rev. Michael Daughrity is pastor of the church. Special Services at Family Worship World evangelist Kevin White will preach Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. and Aug. 3-7 at 7 p.m. nightly at Family Worship Center, 1818 Shelby Rd., for a week of power and praise. The public is in- vited.
