HOLTSCHULTE KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Lallage Warlick Falls Holtschulte, 99, formerly of West Mountain Street, died July 15, 2009 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain. Born Aug. 11, 1909 in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Abron Plato (A. P.) and Texie Mac Smith Warlick. She was pirie - | ceded in death by her first husband, Gillie Falls Sr. and two of her seven children, Gillie Falls Jr. and Sarah Katherine (Kitty) Cobb and her grandson, Rodney Cobb; three sisters, Mrs. J. P. Grice (Virginia), Mrs. Richard Day (Adeline) and Mrs. J. G. Rutledge II (Junie) and her only brother, Heyward P. Warlick, and her second husband, Clement Holtschulte. Lallage graduated from Kings Mountain = High School. After her marriage she was a stay at home Mother until Gillie died in 1944. With seven children to rear, it became necessary to work outside the home. "She kept books for the War- lick Trucking Company until her father retired. Af- terwards she worked for Efird’s Department Store, Montaldo’s and Coplan’s, all of Charlotte, managed the Lerner Shop in Spartan- burg, SC, then was Bridal Consultant for Montaldo’s, Charlotte, until her retire- ment. Lallage was an ac- complished seamstress and after retirement an avid bridge player. At her death she was the oldest member of Central United Methodist Church in Kings Mountain, having joined the church at age 12. She served as Pres- ident of the United Methodist Women during the 1970s. Surviving are her daugh- ter, Jacqueline Falls Rud- dock and husband, Col. William O., Jackson, MS. and their two sons, Paul and Jeff; daughter-in-law, Betty Falls of Kings Mountain and sons, Warren and Monte; daughter, Jo Ann Falls of Lumberton; son, A. P. “Bud” Falls and wife, Gwen of Shelby and their daughter, Subetha Falls Lancaster, Spartanburg, SC; son, Robert David Falls and wife, Lena and their daughter, Carol Falls Hicks and son, Mark Falls, all of Johnson City, Tn; daughter, Lallage Diane Falls Swift and husband, Joseph, Spar- tanburg, SC, and her daugh- ter, Annegela Sill Winterstein and her sons, Todd and Phillip (Pepe) Sill and her two stepchildren, Aimee and Michael Swift of Louisville, Ky.; sister, Avis Warlick Gill of Lake Wales, Florida; 7 grand- children; 26 great-grand- children; two step-great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Mark But- ler said that Josephine Allen of Dallas, operating a 1993 Olds, said brakes failed on her car which resulted in a three car pileup on US 74 Business at Highway 216. Harold Carpenter cited Steven Davis for failure to yield right of way after the 2001 volvo he was driving struck a 2006 motorcycle operated by Dan Whitesides at the in- tersection of King St. and Railroad Ave. Whitesides oo traveling west on King , approaching Railroad or Davis ‘attempted to make a left turn onto King St. from Railroad Ave. when he pulled into White- sides’ lane of travel. White- sides attempted to avoid Davis, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed onto the roadway. Davis stated that his vision was obstructed by other vehicles and admitted fault at the scene, according to the re- port. Estimated damage to vehicle -. $1,000.
