Doug Ram- sey. Recently, the 56 active members conducted its first mission trip with a large group of youth and youth leaders participating. “We moved from one church on a Sunday evening not knowing what was next and two days later we were sent to Jason Falls who is letting us use his building to worship in for free,” said Diana Hughes, a member of the church. She added that the church had services on Wednesday evening after they talked with Mr. Falls on a Mon- day. Said Hughes, “We chose the name A New Beginning because it is just that for us and God is really working in our congregation.” The members have finished a Tasha Nicole Phillips “I do” and were wed on June 12th at the Gazebo in Patriots Park. Rev. Greg Neely offici- Robbie and Sandy Phillips of Cherryville, was given in | marriage by her father. Tracy Stewart provided the wedding music. The bride is granddaugh- ter of Coy and Judy Phillips and David and Pat Hannon. She is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School. The groom is son of Mr. and Mrs, Max Davis and the late Doyle Jarrett of Grover. He is grandson of Shirley Jarrett and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Andrews. He is a graduate of Kings Mountain High School and is now serving as a military police officer in the United States Army. . The bride wore a white strapless ~~ ballerina-style gown with an A-line waist. It was accented with silver stitching, swarovski crystal served as bridesmaids. groomsmen. and Blake Alan Jarrett said ated. The bride, daughter of and pearls and had a. flowing, beaded train. She was crowned with a tiara. Sisters of the bride Hali Phillips and Amy Phillips both of Kings Mountain Brandon Jarrett of Alabama and Tyler. Bess of Kings Mountain served as 2009 once empty building at 5110-3 East Dixon Boule- vard with chairs, tables and hymn books donated by caring people. A building fund is underway too and the church is looking for land, hoping that someone will donate land for a church building. Sunday morning serv- ices begin with Sunday School at 9 a.m. , worship at 10 am. and and Wednes- day evening services at 7:30 p.m. The church has an active youth and chil- dren’s department. “Qur faith in our church is strong,” says Hughes, our kids can’t wait to get to church to hang out with others and we are all one big happy family.” Youth leaders are Leslie Ramsey, Deana Fleming, and Sherry and Don Sellers Jr. Others taking part in the mission trip were Shanna Ramsey, Tray Sell- ers, Kylee Ramsey, Austin — Mr. & Mrs. Blake Jarrett - Ring bearer was Nathan Bess. Reagan Blake and Tasha (Phillips) Jarrett and Skyler Davis were flower girls. Parents of the bride, Robbie and Sandy Phillips presented the wedding reception at the Gazebo. Food for the reception was provided by Crystal Bess, aunt of the bride, and Lisa Facemyer. The couple will reside in Germany, where the groom is currently stationed.
