A native of Cleveland County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Miles Luther Sidney Bridges and Minnie Lee Huffstickler Bridges. She was also preceded in death by sons, Larry Dean Carpenter and Paul Carpen- ter, three brothers and four sisters. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, a homemaker and a member of Westover Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.. The funeral was con- ducted Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Ollie Harris Me- morial Chapel. Her pastor, Rev. Dale Angel of West- over Baptist Church offici- ated and interment was in Mountain Rest Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Harris Fu- neral home. Surviving are her hus- band of 65 years, Rommie R. Carpenter; sons, Ron “Steve” Carpenter and wife, Barbara; George “Sid” Car- penter and wife, Susan; and David W. Carpenter and wife, Sandra, all of Kings Mountain; daughters, Frances C. Davis and hus- band, Richard, and Cindy C. Davis and husband George, all of Gastonia; sis- ters-in-law, Louise Carpen- ter and Jane Carpenter, both of Kings Mountain; brother, Bill Bridges of Kings Mountain; 11 grand- children and 12 great- grandchildren. ~ Memorials may be made to. Harris Funeral Home was in charge of arrange- ments. - Parris Funeral Home Dale Odom KINGS MOUNTAIN - Dale Cain Odom, 66, of 106 Woodbark Lane, passed away on September 3, 2009 at Hospice Cleveland County. He was born on September 27, 1943 in Mar- ion County, SC, to the late Walter LeGrand Odom and Alice Elizabeth Britt LeGrand. Dale retired from Uni- versal Manufacturing after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hartsville, SC. and Circle S Hunting Club in Walterboro, SC. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and spending time with family. In addition to his par- ents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Billy Odom. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Adair Odom of the home; sons, Travis Odom and wife Anne of Kings Mountain, Jody Odom of Falls Church, VA; daughters, Jennie Stanley and husband Ricky of Hartsville, SC, and Julie McKissick and husband Jay of Florence, SC; four loving "grandchildren, Will Segars and Bryce Stanley of Hartsville, Megan McKissick and Jackson McKissick of Florence. Pagett, 90, of 103 Valleywood Dr., died August 31, 2009 at White Oak Manor. Born Nov. 28, 1918 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Oliver and Katherine Conway Pagett “and ‘was husband for 66 years to the late Thelma Or- cutt Pagett who he married just before World War II. The Pagetts moved to Cali- fornia and set- |; tled in Fall brook where Thiel lived fo 5 0 years. About 17 years ago they moved to Kings Mountain and made their home. He was also preceded in death by three infant children and adult son, Jerry Pagett, and sister, Gladys Rogers. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Kings Mountain, the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 155. A World War II vet- eran, he served in the United States Army and (re- ceived the Bronze Star and other honors. He was retired from General Service Ad- ministration as Wage and Classification Officer. White, 68, of 422 Cleve- land Ave., died Sept. 6, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was born Aug. 19, 1941 to the late Dennis Buette White and Inez Blalock White. He was also preceded in death by his sis- ter, Marjorie Turner. A member of First Bap- tist Church of Grover, he was a member of Stateline Masonic Lodge 375 in Grover. He was employed with Baxter Corporation for 49 years. He served in the North Carolina National Guard and was always will- ing to do for others. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Judy White of the home; son, Brent White and wife, Sharon, of Grover; grandson, Dillon White of Grover; brothers, Donald White and wife, Shirley, of Gastonia and Larry White of Grover; sister-in-law, Marjorie White of Grover and brother-in-law, Floyd Turner of Gastonia. Proceeds from the sale will be used to- ward the purchase of new materials for the library. Members of the Friends of Mauney Memorial Library will have a special preview time from 10 am.-2 p.m. Memberships can be pur- chased for $5 at the library. The library is located at 100 S.
