MARY GRACE BEAM KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Mary Grace Sellers Beam, 76 of 3367 Marshall Wolfe Road, Kings Moun- tain passed away September 17, 2009 at Carolina Care Center. Born January 8, 1933 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Giles C. Sellers and Virginia Grace Harmon Sellers. She was retired after 27 years of service from Carolina Freight as a pro rate clerk. Mrs. Beam was a member of the First Wesleyan Church in Cherryville and attended Beulah United, Methodist Church. Mrs. Beam is survived by her husband, Donald B. Beam, Sr.; two sons, Don- ald B. Beam, Jr. and wife, Judy of Clemmons and Gary C. Beam and wife, Vickie of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Roxanna B. Ingle of Kings Mountain; and five grandchildren, William Beam, Tyler Beam and wife Kortney, Lacey Beam, Brittany Beam and Travis Ingle. Hubert Eugene “Gene” Grigg, 75 of Shelby, went to his eter- nal home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Septem- ber 17, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. SEPT. 14: A 16-year-old driver was treated at the hos- pital after the 2000 Toyota she was driving crossed the center line. on Phifer Road. The driver overcorrected and spun out and overturned down a small embankment. The vehi- cle was damaged $700. Cpl. . Mark Butler investigated for KMPD. SEPT. 15: Ptl. G. L. McK- inney said that'a 2002 Ford operated by Cleveland Dou- glas Brown, 849 Mountain Crest Dr. rear-ended a 1999 Ford stopped on Lake Monto- nia Road and owned by Don- ald Jones of Clover, SC. Brown was cited for driving while license revoked and Jones was cited for failure to reduce speed. SEPT. 16::Officer B..C. McGinnis said witnesses re- ported that Edward Joseph Wehner, 109 Conner Dr., Unit 5, apparently passed out at the wheel of a 1995 Ford owned by the City of Kings Moun- tain and the vehicle ran off the road on Northwoods Drive, struck a mailbox, a car parked in the yard at 1712 North- woods, and another mailbox and foundation and structure at 1711 Northwoods. McGin- nis was transported to Gaston Memorial Hospital for treat- ment. Damages to the 1990 Cadillac owned by Inthavong Somvang, 1712 Northwoods Dr., were. estimated at $500. Damages to the city vehicle were estimated at $2000. Other property damage was estimated at $2200. SEPT. 18: Sgt. J. C. Shull said that Gregory Douglas, 309 Somerset Dr., was back-, ing from a parking space at Taco Bell as Annie Lee Wal- ters, of Charlotte, was enter- ing resulting in a total of $1700 damage to both vehi- cles. SEPT. 19: ‘Officer B. L. Wilkinson charged Andrew Jordan Moss, 813 Margrace Rd., with hit and run and DUI after his car wrecked on I-18 South and he left the scene of the accident. The Moss 1997 Pontiac left the roadway and hit a guardrail several times. The driver was located on Dixon School Road, Wilkin- son said.
