Grooms, KMHS senior,
is sponsoring the clinic as
his senior project and stu-
dents in grades 4-8 are in-
vited to participate in
practice drills, competitions
and a free baseball clinic.
The day will begin with a
discussion about how to
prevent, recognize and treat
injuries. A hot dog lunch
will be served campers.

sign an insurance waiver
before stepping on the field.

‘Celebration Sunday
Faith Baptist Church, 1009 Linwood Rd., will celebrate
its 56th anniversary Sunday, Oct. 18, with special guests,
the Suwannee River Boys and guest speaker, Dr. Steve
Parker. The service begins at 10:30.a.m. The public is in-
vited.
Country Breakfast
Grace United Methodist Church, 829 Cleveland Ave.,
will serve a country style breakfast, all you can eat, Satur-
day, Oct. 17, from 6 -10 a.m. Donations of $6 or more for
adults and $3 or more for children 7- 12, $5 for seniors 65
. and older. Proceeds benefit the church building fund.
Fish Fry Oct. 24
Bynum Chapel AME Zion Church will hold a fish fry
and hot dog sale Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at
the Bynum Chapel Family Life Center on Cansler Street.
Fish plates are $8, hot dog plates $5. The Steward Board is
sponsoring the church benefit.
Southern Gospel at 1st Baptist
First Baptist Church Kings Mountain will have a South-
‘ern Gospel Night on Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. The event will fea-

Poor Man’s Supper Saturday
Westover Baptist Church, 114 Westover Drive, will
Sponsor a Poor Man’s supper Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning
at 5 p.m. Plates are $6 for adults and $3 for children. The
menu includes: pinto beans, fried taters, slaw, onions and
cornbread. The public is invited.
Revival at Kings Lighthouse
Evangelists Tim Setzer and Shane McSweeny will lead
revival services beginning Sunday and continuing through
Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Kings Lighthouse Worship Cen-
ter, off Cleveland Avenue on the hill across from the walk-
ing track.
Sunday service is at 6 p.m. and Monday- Wednesday
services are at 7 p.m. Special singing will be featured each
night.

3 Day Benefit Revival
Gloryland Missionary Baptist Church, 101 Benfield Rd.
(off Piedmont Ave.), will host a three-day benefit revival
Oct. 15-17, starting at 7 p.m. each night. Featured is Dr.
Timothy Simms of Bethel Baptist Church in Shelby, with
special singing each night. On Thursday, Oct. 15 Truly
Blessed will be in concert; Friday - Bethel Baptist Choir;
and Saturday - The Fletchers.
